The lighting is all wrong on the fallen tripods- there's an obvious lightsource behind the camera, above and slightly to the left. However, it's clear from the sky and the figure of the narator that the scene is lit from in front of the camera, to the right. But then I do CG for a living...
Still, I ponied up the $10 from Amazon for this movie...

Well I guess that's why I wasn't very impressed when I looked at that still, altho I couldn't figure out just what was wrong with it. So I was surprised when some here expressed admiration for that shot. And I think the handling-machine shot near the end of the trailer looks wrong, too... perhaps that's also a lighting problem.
So, you being a professional in the field, how likely do you think it is that they'll fix the lighting problems in the CGI before the film is finalized?

Hmmm.... yes, it would appear they did the trailer (or at least, finished it) AFTER the DVD was mastered.

Nerfy, I agree, we should play nicely...
So, as someone accused in the past of being a 'Hines Hater', I'll say this: The new image and trailer have both surprised me. I quite like the image (even if it is of the ugly Metal Chicken design). And having just watched the trailer (albeit in silence as my 'new' PC's sound card is duff) I enjoyed it. Yes, it's hokey, some shots (OK, most) have CGI barely above PS2 standards, but it actually looks interesting.
I now know pretty categorically what to expect - an amateurish and cheap-looking film, but not (on the evidence thus far) as bad as I'd been expecting. Heck, I'd even doubted it would be finished at all!
So I'm ordering it from Amazon any minute now. ;D
