It stands a good chance of being the very final part of the book when the narrator is making his way back home to Woking.

As far as the film having any real impact it's a "Goner" with a straight to DVD release. Let's face it, with a very few exception straight to DVD deserves the stigma it has as a dumping ground for films unable to get a theartical or even a televsion release.

LOOK at the feet of the machines in the picture ..they have the 3 bars as seen on the trailer ..although the legs looked closer together in the trailer ....the images on the dvd cover have them too wide apart

Of course it will have impact - in the sci-fi and WOTW community, but not to the dizzy heights.

Hard to tell with the legs though but they still appear a bit puppet like.

One thing I cant help but note, if this machine was standing upright, would it appear 100ft tall?. That image suggests its smaller in scale than to what it should be.

Well, for the very first time I saw something new at Pendragon's website BEFORE heading over here!
*Sigh* yeah, looks like they're using the chicken-headed tripods. Oh well, as I said before, looking at Dr. Zeus's website, that design is actually better than most artists' depictions, even if it's decidedly non-canonical.
I think we are gonna have to resign ourselves to the FX just not being up to the level of an "A" film. Sort of like reviews I've read of Hines' previous feature, "Bug Wars". It was described as a real people in what looked like a video game. I just hope WotW is a step up from that.
Those of us who are excited just to see a live-action period production might enjoy this film. I'm still hoping for that. For those of you who FX are the most important thing... then I think it likely you won't care for this film.

One thing that strikes me with this picture and the last one in Cinefantastique is the fact that the machines don't appear to have a weighty feel about them - again they appear puppetlike.

I wonder if the acting and the Dick Van Dyke English accents have gotten any better in the upcoming trailer.
