There's a new picture, of the narrator standing next to some fallen tripods, a promise of a new trailer to be released today or tomorrow, and again talk of the movie coming to (selected) theatres. Also the DVD is mentioned.

Well, I don't know what it is about this movie, but every little snippet of news, update (and even rumour) makes my adrenaline flow...
The new picture looks amateurish at best but it still envokes an accurate image of the novel and thats all that matters.
Lets hope the new trailor can redeem the past monstrosities and restore faith.

I think the upcoming trailer will finally give us a clear idea of what to expect from the final movie, in regards to style, play and effects. Well, at least that's what I hope it will. I still love the part of second teaser with the drumming sound opening it up and again with the text "then came the night of the first falling star" over the picture of the sky.

Hate to put a dampener on things but that picture looks suspiciously like one of those crap looking tripods that we've seen recently - and notice the way they emphasize 'SELECT THEATRES'.

This is good news is it not? We all thought, myself included, that this thing was never going to see the light of day. Mr Hines is surely not that foolish as to keep promising us if he knows that nothing will be delivered. Worst case scenario we all get to watch it on DVD. Yes I would prefer to see it on the big screen but I will quite gladly watch a true telling of the story in the comfort of my home without crying over it. Hats off to Pendragon if they manage to pull this off and I really hope they do... (fingers crossed, the next 24 hours could be very interesting)

Yes I think that phrase is quite accurate considering the last photo's we saw of the tripods. Roger Deans tripods were chicken like but they looked good. I'm also shaking my head in disbelief! |

I have been examining the new picture. Firstly, they don't appear to be the same tripods that were shown in the first trailer - the legs are to short and just don't look the same. Secondly, I am assuming this is the part of the film when the martians are dying, hence they have fallen down. Correct me if Iam wrong but isn't this part of the book set in the middle of london city? So why the hell is the journalist in the middle of a field in the countryside?  ?? What gives here? Your thoughts please... |

Ok.. I'm not speechless anymore.
First thoughts.
So we have a new pic. Hmm.
Not exactly impressive is it? I mean no slight to anyone who has posted their work on this site (on the contrary in fact) when I say I have seen better pics knocked up by fans in a night.
And it's those chickens again. They bear absolutely no relation to the Handling Machine we were shown. Why is that?
New trailer? All I can say is that this had better feature a fair amount of new, completed footage or I am giving this up.
Now then...
If anyone else at all is feeling like me right now I will say one thing. And then no one can say later we didn't warn them.
We will not tolerate any flame/hate posting of any kind over this. We had enough trouble last time PP released something and I really don't want to go through that again.
This is a shock yes.. But can we, please, all play nicely.. ok?
