WoW great shots. Eve of the War dot com also has some new different super high resolution stills available. Some of the images have been seen before in the trailer such as the tripod one, but in super high resolution. View them here forums.eveofthewar.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=48Beware each still is like over 500kb.

I think I have to say the handling machine looks pretty dam fine in that still.
These shots are finally beginning to show some dramatic flair. I'm starting to think there may be some hope now after all.
why didn't they put this stuff in the trailer ? They need to pull ALL The trailers and get some of this stuff into it and produce ONE serious trailer and they may well manage to make this a hit..
House does look a little modelly, but at least it's made of bricks so at least when it get's hit with the shell it's not going to snap in half and float across the fields.
overall I'd say this is the BEST set of IMPACT images they've released yet..
Thumbs up for me...
(in fact I've had to add this after lookig at them all again - I'm starting to get buzzed - this could turn out to be a cracking little movie)

*Raises eyebrow at handling machine*
Looks, fast, nimble and practically scary. Just like Well's described it.
I can see the Second chapter coming together well, and even if the first chapter raises a few question, HIne's will shine through in the second chapter of the book.
This and diaries has leated a great deal of hope
Now if we could just get the UK cinema release announcment and we'd all be happy.
I'm almost tempted to show it myself at my local arthouse cinema just to get it seen once in the UK, but I'd have a lot to look into first.
Hines, give us an answer, please. UK or no?

Once the FX team have added tones and textures to the model house it should appear nicely in the film.
Looking at these images I am getting excited about this film now, a shame it has taken this long though. Just one main thing that concerns me - the film is released NEXT month and still NO news of a UK release.
The Handling Machine in this 1898 version is that of the concept art that was released a couple of years ago when PP were doing there modern day version.

If Pendragon can keep up those effects in the film all the way through then this could be quite a suprise sucess i believe.

Well, I've seen the shots, and....well, I'm stunned. I didn't expect such a shot of the handling machine for one, which just blew me away, really.
The shot in the house, with that greenish light cast on the curate was a nice touch; dark and grim. And the new high res shot of the tripod's legs... F*ck me. The sinewy like appearance; just...wow. I honestly did not expect the effects to start looking like this. If they'd just release a new finished high res shot of Big Ben's decapitation, I will definitely start getting more excited for this. I've also read the cast diaries; the praising of Hines' seems a bit overboard, but on the other hand, who knows? He really could be that in to this, giving us a real treat. If these shots are a true indication of what we're getting, I for one, am thrilled.

The cylinder in the concept art is the same as what appeared in the storyboards way back in 2001/2. The storyboard shows the cylinder cracking open like an egg to reveal an orb encased within it. (which i thought was very interesting) I wonder if they have kept that concept.
The Hi-res version of the FM is way way way cool.

It looks like Hines is continuing to deliver the goods. The handling machine: Superb ! nothing at all like I was expecting - far better. Hines and his crew seem to have really given good consideration to making this work. We have now seen the three-leggers and the handling machines and we are all generally pleased. I hope Steve is reading this. . .

I've also read the cast diaries; the praising of Hines' seems a bit overboard, but on the other hand, who knows? He really could be that in to this, giving us a real treat. Actors always do that. But i'd say only a few actually maen it. (I'm thinking of Lord of the rings here)

The trapped men in house: 8/10 looks very creepy like the book.
Concept for house impact: effective 6/10

Yes, looking good. The model house isn't so impressive, but then it's just a photo of the model without any cinematic lighting on it...

Just applied new wallpaper to my desktop...
IN YER FACE - DOUBTERS!!!
Xcellant. Despite some worry and anxiety I have to say Hines is delivering. Even when I thought hed got it wrong when I checked up he was right.
The images from the video released in Hi-res do look far better than in the trailer. Even the get under water scene look more respectable. Something I always felt would be the case.
Im still sure the big ben shot was put in incomplete and Im quite happy to suspend any disbelief.
In a year, thought I - in a year Im going to own a WOTW DVD. Hurray!!! Proper version of course.
