God don't tempt him, the last thing we need is another bloody Motile rant about the house, the colour of the house, how the left window is slightly out of line...Ad Nauseam. D.F.

Yeah thats it boys lets all FLAME MOTILE! woo hoo how much fun is this! Just like being back at school bullying the smaller kids huh guys? (in this case smaller kids being the minority point of view)
Malf you have valid arguments about the house, I concede it may end up being CG.
Tomohawk, David: I get the impression your getting a kick from insulting me over my posts, you dont have to agree with me, you dont have to attack me either. Tomohawk, my 2 year old daughter likes your choice of reading material, you carry on.

you certainly do have an odd idea of what flaming is motile. people disagree with you. thats flaming? pointing out chinks in your armor of argument is flaming? passionately disagreeing is flaming?
you are the minority in here, most of us are looking forward to the PP movie. you seem to go out of your way to dis it and 'talk smack' about it. everything thats released, instead of seeing whats good about it, you find fault in it.
and when people like myself try to defend against your comments, its flaming?
and with people like tomahawk, its just best to ignore, so there is no flame.
seriously man, you have to expect to be outnumbered and to have it coming from all sides when you're amongst a majority of people who hold a different POV. well at least me anyway

So Mal it is just best to ignore me is it ....
Haven't you grasped that you will not get the point across to the like of Motile that his points are negative for the sake of being negative I have told him numerous times to wait for the film, he has slagged every piece of footage and piccies and yet people who point this out deserve to get ignored.
Just because you claim to have constructive disagreements doesn't mean only your points are valid in response to his and everybody elses suck..

Malf, I respect your posts as they do offer a counter point, if it were just you it would be an interesting debate, however others do not offer counter points but simply state im wrong, but how can my opinion be wrong?
You are spot on with your advise to ignore but I do disagree with your statement that I have a chip on my shoulder, PP seems to be a little thorn in my mental paw and until its pulled out one way or another I will gripe about it.

ok tomahawk, i can see you're just quivering with anticipation that somebody will notice that rant you just posted...
the reason why i advised ignorning you isn't because your argument isn't worth a fart, it is because threads get closed around here left and right when somebody starts casting personal insults, like you did when you called motile an idiot. then you went and said that i deserve to be called one too.
you really want threads shut down because you can't control your childish impulses?

I don't know about you but in my opinion isn't the HM a little too...insectoid ...looks like a zoid Goes against the image of HG Wells, I expected it to be more mechanical , also notice the legs look rather different to the FM seen in the trailer.

I would have assumed the martians would have adapted the various designs but kept the same fundamental parts ... rather then complicate each design, bearing in mind they had to manufacture each machine on Earth .. just an observation on my part

That shape of leg allows it to scuttle faster. However i think it might be a little indanger of getting itself in a tangle lol ;D

Ashe: Sorry for over reacting About the HM picture, is it from the authentic version or the first modern day version? the reason I ask is that I just read an article from 2002 before it was cancelled and they mention CG animations by the same people who did the Enterprise effects and that pic does look like the concept art from the same year but it doesnt look like the same animation style as the other CG seen so far.

it does say C. 2005 Pendragon Pictures underneath it, so I'm assuming its the handling machine from the current version. i'm a tad dissappointed, i never really liked that design... with the 'capsule' on top, and the legs are way too spiderlike, not crab-like
however, for what it is, it looks really good

Yeah it is a nice design, but I see what you mean, Wells wrote for us to see the martian as the Narrator does, how its the brain portion of the HM, maybe you do from another angle.
I cant place that scene in the book, what could it be? We see the HM 3 times, once in the pitt, again under the smashed house when the HM is destroyed and again in the super pitt in london along woth the flying machine but it doesnt mention the HM amongst flame as it was never used in battle, any ideas?

most likely thats just a promo-beauty shot, not necessarily a still frame from the film
