Why the secrecy? I asked why was it deleted? It was a valid point H_C, why are the mods locking tons of threads they deem to have 'no point' when this entire forum is based on a work of fiction there fore has no point, except to entertain, if any of those threads entertained then surely they had a point.
Theres a crazy atmos in here man, its why I dont post as much lately, its getting claustraphobic. You never know if your post will be deemed unworthy or pointless and end up being locked or in my case deleted.

Just nosed on imdb, Pendragons WOTW is not marked with Post Production anymore (nothing else is updated that i noticed). And it now shows Chrome in Post Production 2005 - Updated March 9th. Sooooo, I assume from that WOTW is finished, but would be handy to have some sort of official news...glad i dont have to hold my breath ;D Anyway, if it comes to DVD i will order it, still looking forward to watching it.

[glow=purple,2,300]I'm not defending or justifying anything Hines has done. Like everyone, I'm miffed at the appalling marketing job (hich I think we can all agree on). I'm reserving judgement on the movie, though, until I've actually seen it.
My belief, from the ever accurate World Wide Web (!) is that Tim formed his Company in 1998, with the aim of making WOTW. Bug Wars was an experimental film used as an excerise to test CGI FX and shots that would be adapted for WOTW.
I doubt that the info in 2001 that Tom Cruise would be interested in a doing a version of WOTW would make anyone think to piggyback off it. Many 'stars' state they'd like to be in such&such an adaptation - doesn't mean they'll ever get made!
All I'm saying is don't write off the guy just yet. Let's see the finished product first before ripping him to shreds![/glow]

Hmm, maybe. Okay, for now I’ll go with 1998. But ‘Bug Wars’ as a trial run for sfx? That’s a bloody odd way of doing things – ‘Let’s make a really shoddy-looking film that’ll never actually be released so we can practise doing sfx’. Why not just, say, practise doing sfx?
I accept the second point about Cruise. BUT I still maintain that for ages now it’s been clear to Hines that his WotW is nowhere near cinematic quality, and never will be. He simply doesn’t have the resources. To be brutally honest, I don’t think he has the talent either. Everything he’s shown so far smacks of rank amateurism, from the website up. I think (yes, it’s an opinion, but a reasonable one now that we have some new facts) that in desperation, Timbo seeks to coat-tail Cruiseberg. And I’ll bet that’s been his intention ever since Cruiseberg’s project got the green light.
I’m still interested in seeing his film – when it comes out on DVD and I can order it from the US.
Maybe he’ll even surprise me.
Somehow, I doubt that.
PS: This knee-jerk locking of threads is started to get tedious. Why not let things flow? Fair enough if things get nasty, but they rarely do. And as The Motile said, the whole bloody forum is pointless anyway – or have you taken a leaf out of Orwell’s book? ‘All threads are pointless, but some are more pointless than others.’

[glow=purple,2,300]Fair enough!
I must say though, I agree with the sudden clampdown on posts/threads - I'm intrigued by what Motile had deleted now! Still, I suppose it's the moderators job to moderate, and not knowing what was in Motiles post, don't know how far he went. Although I also agree with H_C, that this discussion should have gone through a PM (and not in the thread), perhaps the post should have been left with a warning from H_C, and removed later if the warning not heeded?[/glow]

Actualy I said the mods had better ease up on the locking threads botton or else they may run out of padlocks. Thats it. No insults. All in good humour. It was titled "Padlocks..."
It seems to me the PP section if full of locked threads and i cant understand why they are locking threads on the grounds of being pointless. The whole forum is technicaly pointless. Its just an exercise in entertainment, people come to chat and debate, it all doesnt have to have some deep and meaningful point. I thought McTodds thread was funny as hell, locking it was just insane especialy as others have posted worse stuff than that, we had a caption thread for gods sake, that was well populer, even the mods posted funnys on there. What was different about McTodds thread? Who knows, its just that big red "lock thread" button is just too much of a temptation...

I also felt this was a public issue, not a secret dirty little behind closed doors affair. Deletion of my thread was wrong. plain and simple.

Some of you may want pointless threads but from a logical standpoint that doesn't work. When we Mods read through the posts we are also members here. Like alot of other members we get exasperated when a new thread is started along the same lines as existing threads or it just turns out to be a 'joke' thread. For the sake of everyone else's sanity, you may occasionally find your thread locked..and the reason is usually obvious. It gets far too confusing for everyone when there are too many parallel conversations going on. Also, I know from experience, that there's nothing more annoying than looking at a thread with an intriguing title only to find it either contains a subject already covered or.. worse.. a bad joke. We're not censoring... we're tidying up the mess so that everyone who visits can enjoy the experience of being here as much as possible. Remember, not everyone who comes here may have the time to trawl through as many threads as you do. You members can reduce the amount of locked threads by considering whether your new thread you want to post is really as original (and therefore deserving of it's own thread) as you believe or whether it could perhaps fit in with an existing one. A little thought will make life easier for everyone. Simple. Oh... and trying to wind the Mods up for doing their job isn't big or clever.

Yeah that sounds good on paper but loads of locked threads looks a lot worse than some 'pointless' threads and McTodds was funny. In a dying section like the PP department a humour injection is just what the doctor ordered.
NOBODY is trying to wind up the mods nerf, to imply it is childish, my post was valid and it was deleted with out a by your leave. Now I know how we the children of the board are seen by the mods.

Childish? Well, that's your opinion. I think your and McTodd's posts preceeding mine were 'childish' and were obviously designed to get a response from the Moderators. We will do our job and we don't have to answer to you or anybody else as to how and why we do it. Out of common decency though I felt an explanation was required. Don't expect the same courtesy again.

Though it may appear funny to some, it does not to others. We in the past have let a lot through, turned a blind eye to certain posts, but if we feel a certain posting can or could become negative for the wrong reasons, we as mods following the rules like the members follow theres, and we mods have those rules too, find it best to put a stop to it incase any harm is done - unless you want that to happen. Regarding your comment on 'children', bare in mind that is YOUR words and nothing stated or reflected by the moderators. This is a good site and we wish to keep it that way. We dont want to get into the habit again of reminding members of the site rules. So, if we can get back on topic that would be gratefully appreciated by all.

Oh, I'll happily concede that my 'EXCLUSIVE! Pendragon SFX!' post was very childish. And the one about Threads and Ropes etc.
But if you're implying that any of my other posts have been meant to annoy, then you are being childish, and I resent the accusation.
My posts about Pendragon are sincere statements of what I believe to be the situation. They may be sarcastic sometimes, they may even be b******* - but they are nothing except serious.
I suggest you go out for a walk, clear your head, and try to regain a sense of perspective and humour about the whole thing.
Oh, and I shan't insert a Smiley here, as I am deadly serious.
