Let's look at what Hines has actually said. Press releases can be found at

From message posted to the site on Nov 25, 2004:
"Our distribution is a consortium of distributors of which more are signing on every week. The date posted on our website, 30 March 2005, is the worldwide release date. Some minor adjustments may be made country to country, based on a variety of factors relating to individual distribution contracts within each region."
From message posted to the site on Jan 12:
"The trailer will appear in theaters beginning late January and early February."
From message posted to the site on Jan 15:
"Two new trailers with completed FX will be be released to theaters beginning circulation in late February and early March. Early March will also see new television trailers which will be broadcast in the U.S. and select countries."
The dates appear to be slipping. I hope I'm wrong and Gray is right, that the March 30 release date is firm. But as time passes it looks more and more like the film has been delayed. If this is Pendragon's first feature-length film, as several on this forum have stated, then it's entirely possible some things are taking longer than they realized. This seems to be particularly true of FX-heavy films; even the Lord of the Rings post-production was rushed on the third film (Return of the King) because of tha massive number of FX sequences.
Several people here keep asking "If the March 30 date is no longer valid, why hasn't it been changed?" I think the most likely reason is because having missed one deadline, they aren't about to announce another until they are a lot more sure of having a realistic release date. From Pendragon's point of view, taking down the March 30 date at this time will gain them nothing. It will only throw their investors into doubt, and fuel more negative speculation of the kind we're already seeing in this forum.
Put it another way: If *you* were producing this film, and the production fell behind, would *you* pull down the announced release date before you had a more firm date in mind? *I* certainly wouldn't.
And again, to reiterate, I hope I'm wrong. I hope Gray is right and the film won't be delayed. We'll find out over the next 29 days.
Thanks Lensman! Great to see my website has any use! :-)
