Last time I heard from Mr. Hines (quite recently) everything was on schedule.
I have been amused by some of the posts on this board (and others) recently speculating, formulating, worrying, venting, ranting, raving, and consoling, but I[/b] am not worried. Whether that tells you anything hinges on how close you’ve been paying attention.
We cannot allow ourselves to lose track that Pendragon is an independent film company doing its best to deliver the best film they can for “Worlds” fans - while facing incredible pressure and often deeply entrenched (and rather emotional) personal expectations. And let’s not forget distributors can be a fickle and slightly paranoid bunch when it comes to indie films.
In any case, let’s let deal more with what we know and less with what we think we know.

If everything is on schedule, and the supposed date is March 30th, why is there so much speculation as to whether this film will be shown?
I fully respect your opinion in every regard, but it is not concrete. Many questions remain unanswered and events leading up to the 'so called' release appear very clouded indeed. I need more to be convinced not ra ra ra sessions from ardent supporters.
Pendragon know what questions need answering. Don't tell me about the growing pains Hines, just show me the baby!

[/quote] Yep you're right there Charles. We can only wait and see. I think if Pendragon have been monitoring our comments they'll understand how high most of ours and Wells fans expectations are in general. Mr Hines has said he acknowledges that fans expectations are enormous - so let's hope Pendragon have got something BIG up their sleeves.

And let us not forget... allthough this is Mr. Hines' longtime dream project, he is also making it for us fans.

Thank you very much, Charles! I've found it hard to maintain my optimism for this film in the face of what seems to be an information blackout from Pendragon, so it's great to hear someone with an "inside track" thinks they're still on schedule.

If everything is on schedule, and the supposed date is March 30th, why is there so much speculation as to whether this film will be shown? ...probably because there are so many people who cannot wait 'til the movie is done. Sure there is a lot of speculation, but I have yet to see any that have any evidence for their conclusions. For instance, I personally believe both Hines and Spielberg are in cahoots with the Bush administration to galvanise the US population into accepting a pre-emptive strike against Mars (they CERTAINLY have WMD's). Speculation? Sure it is. Do I have any evidence... well, not really. Opinions are like assh*les; everyone has (at least) one! All we can honestly say is that Mr Hines is not the most conciencious website updater. Then again, this is far from a surprise. And seeing the vitriol on this board when he DOES release some stuff, who can blame him for. I'm as frustrated as everyone else on this board about the lack of news, but then again we're not seeing much from the Spielberg camp either.

And all we can do now...is wait.
Jeff Wayne's people constantly watch these forums, so no doubt someone at Pendragon browses here every once in a while.

That's great Charles! We have just another 4 weeks, so it won't be long now Having said that I sincerely hope that this threads subject title doesn't become an unfortunate choice of words if he doesn't deliver!

Last time I heard from Mr. Hines (quite recently) everything was on schedule. It was Hines that originaly told us it will be a word wide release on March 30th, but its not is it? As the artillery man says to the Narrator... "whats the good of going on with these lies?" If its on schedule why doesnt Hines give us a hint at which cinema in the world its will be showing at, or is it a secret?

'Then came the night of the first movie showing. It was seen early one night in Winchester eastward, a film, high upon the screen. Hundreds must have seen it, and taken it as a blockbuster. Albin described it as being average. Denning, our greatest authority in films, stated that the film of its first appearance was about about 7 rows ahead of him. I was at home in my study playing on my PS2, and although my French windows face towards Ottershaw and the blind was up (for I loved in those days to prance around half naked with the hopes of being seen and reported), I saw nothing of it.'

Will we ever get to see this film?

Guys, I do think you need to wake up and smell the coffee - it's been so widely publicised that Pendragon have no film rights in UK and Europe so the film clearly won't come out there.
In the US and Asia, where I think it is now in the public hands, there is no way any major distributor would put a film out to compete with Paramount, Spielberg and Cruise [and even if they did it wouldn't help us here in the UK!]
It's sad, but it's FACT!
