"Does anyone have any idea if this has been downloaded to one of those sites where you can download movies? I'm not very computer literate but surely someone knows what I'm on about. Because I don't think I can buy a copy from Amazon and have it work on my PlayStation 2 as I live in Australia........ "
I will give you the benefit of the doubt but I have to point out that downloading movies from sites that have put them up without the permission of the film owner is piracy, and is the same as stealing, regardless of availbility issues. I am sorry that the copyright issue is keeping the film from being distriubted in many countries, but that is just another thing you can thank Hines for. But in any case it is stealing, and, as much as Ihave little respect for Hines, he is entitled to all the benefits of the film he has made.

Someone jumped the gun on putting the DVD on the shelfs. It is not unusual for a film to arrive a few days before the DVD is officially released. You are supposed to not put it out until the official release date for legal reasons too complex to go into here. But it is not unusual for the gun to be jumped. And considering the level of service at Walmart....one reason why I never go there...it's easy to see why this happened. I will just wait until I get my copy from Amazon.

Hello, everyone. I have been lurking on this board for some time, and just decided that it was time to 'de-cloak'. Like several others that have posted here, I was also able to purchase this DVD at Wal-Mart for less than $9.00 (!). I just got home from purchasing it, and will be watching it shortly. I'll see if I can post a small review soon. (BTW, if anyone out there is from western Massachusetts, the Wal-Mart store in Ware looked like they had about ten more of these.)
Good luck to all, and I hope we all enjoy this movie after all.

"umm this IS the Pendragon Marketing people, whos to say that they DIDNT cock up on the distribution " Actually, UAV has taken over the marketing and distribution. I have a feeling this is just the kind of thing that happens all the time at Walmart. Minimum wage, you get what you pay for..... And I suspect given the much more professional look and editing of the recent trailer, that UAV was responsible for that rather then Hines.

Nothing. I really don't think it's out there. Considering that it is still over a week until the release date, do stores already have the DVDs waiting?
I hit two seperate Walmarts and neither even could find it in their database. The only two things they pulled up were the 1953 filck (backordered) and the novel.
I think this could be a marketing ploy, abeit a bad one. I have noticed that the Pendragon fourms on the WOTW fansites has been super busy while the other forums for the other films have been half what they normally are.
I want to see a photo of someone holding their copy in one hand and a piece of paper in the other giving the name of this site or something.
Know what I mean?

Hello All. Newly subscribed, but I've been following this forum as well as EOTW US and UK since February or so. I hit all Wal-Marts in my area today after hearing the news last night. I couldn't find it in any of the Huntington WV/ Ashland K stores.

Hey all, you know something about this still dosent seem right. Although ive already pre-judged the film and im convinced it is gonna be crap anyway once it finally does see the light of day, im not sure i beleve that anyone has got a hold of the copy of it at the moment. As neuronomad said, why isnt anyone.....ANYONE putting up pictures of the covers or screen shots of the movie? if this movie had been released early every WOTW forum would be awash with stills and pictures of this? ? and yet the pages are filling up with more people saying they have this movie....so i want to ask one simple thing to the people who claim thay have........PROVE IT!!!!!!!

There where screen caps FROM THE MOVIE that werent released on the net anywhere else, but Hines had them taken down. Quit accusing people of not having the movie, its out, theyve seen it, and the screen caps looked horrible, except for one with a martian in it. The others where of the Thunder Child and it looked laughable

and not to sound like a prick, but dont accuse people of lying unless you have read the WHOLE thread you are posting in. If you would have read back you would have seen that there was proof and it was taken down. Anthony hosted images on his site and they were promptly removed. And I can see why Hines would do it, they looked very awful and he probably didnt want anyone to see them.

Armoredtracklayer, i have read the whole thread, and it doesnt go into any great description as to why there is no screen caps or pictures. I wasnt online when they were relesed so to the people i had my doubts about then i apologise but instead of "sounding like a prick" as you put it then why dont you just explain something instead of letting people read half a story.....anyway, arnt people entitaled to there own opintion or is free speech not part of your world ?

[glow=purple,2,300]"Calm down dears, it's only a mouse movie!" I was wondering if an error has been made along the way. When compiling a DVD, usually you'd make some proofing ones to test chapters, content, menus etc. Perhaps a testing batch accidentally got dispatched in error, and the fully rendered prints will be despatched out this weekend? Similar things have happened in the place where I work - and it's not pretty when it happens!!
That said, if the print IS the finished product, bear in mind the first review in this thread: Tony enjoyed it, the FX weren't brilliant, but the acting was good, it follows the novel virtually accurately. Don't pre-judge the film till you see it (next week with any luck!) [/glow]

[glow=purple,2,300]I saw them screen captures, and although I liked the martian, one thing puzzles me.
There's a shot of the woman being tormented by the (blood extractor unit?). In the orig. trailer, we saw the opera singer being stripped - the screen cap looked like a completely different fully dressed person. What happens in this sequence - has the singer been removed, or does it cut from her to the CGI doll?
Also, who requested the removal of the Screen Caps? Did Tim contact Anthony/EOTW directly - has Ant now got a contact at Pendragon?[/glow]

To be frank, I'm eager to see this movie. But I'm not sure it's going to be released in the Netherlands.

Whoa sorry there, didn't realize I would cause such a stir.... and I had no idea you could make a PlayStation play other regional DVDs. So do I dare ask how I do that or is it also illegal? And if I can't see this one I guess I just have to wait for Steve Speilbergo's version........................

Got my copy at Wal-Mart last nite! Thanks to whoever said it was in the regular alphabetical section, not the new releases... it was under "W" in the store where I bought it. why isnt anyone.....ANYONE putting up pictures of the covers or screen shots of the movie? Well of course I can't speak for everyone, but for myself I watch DVDs on my home theatre system, not my computer (shudder!); my 'puter doesn't even have a DVD drive. And even if I had the capacity to do screen captures and post them to the 'net I wouldn't. Some of us actually respect artists' rights and would never do such a thing without permission from the owner. Such a violation of copyright is both illegal and unethical.

Normally I wouldn't consider pirating anything off the net, because I agree that it is unethical and illegal, but I'm between a rock and a hard place because I was under the impression it was going to be a 'worldwide' release in the first place. And I as a big-time WOTW fan am really annoyed I'm not going to get the chance to see it. So I'm just gong to forget the whole thing and wait for Fantastic 4 to come out now.................
