Hines has consistantly promised then failed to deliver so many times, color me rather jaded about this whole thing. The new trailer caught me by surprise,as I can't say I've bothered looking at the official site since March.
A lot of new footage here- still a fair amount of cheese 'n' ham with the acting, and the effects look a tad ropy in places- but nothing a fan of Dr Who can't completely overlook. I do have to agree, it may not be a masterpiece but at $10 for the DVD it may be a lot of fun.
So, as the 2nd season of Reno 911 is also out on DVD I've placed my order for WOTW on Amazon... but I made sure I get the 2 DVD's sent 'when available' rather than together. Call me a cynic but both Hines AND Amazon have a tendancy of changing release dates AFTER the original ones pass by.
Still, I view this trailer (no pun intended) as a good thing. Clearly there has been some progress on this movie, what with all the new scenes shown, and all in all it is actually quite a nicely put together trailer.
So, once again Mr Hines I'll give you the benefit of the doubt... at least until June 14th! ;-)

The sad thing is now that monkeyman has made it no decent high budget studio will go near the origonal material with a 1000 foot barge pole with the national grid running through it...

''Monkeyman''? How very Zaphod of you, Rusti And why wouldn't another studio consider it? If SS's film is a big hit, I would've thought it'd be almost a cert.

great pity we didn't see any of the Thunderchild / steamer ... As i have been a big advocate of this film .. I am impressed, ok some of the effects are abit iffy ..ie the dodgy cylinder/rock effect is still in, but I think on the whole good show , really would have liked to have seen what he had done with the TC.
Anybody notice the explosions of the buildings look far better then the floaty big ben , which I assume was just a fill in for the trailer

To compare the budget of this film to ASYLUMS version, who incidently spent $1 million making there's and a estimated in the ball park figure here guys of $10 million for the TH version, the TH version should have (if not bettered) been on par with the FX in ASYLUMS. To be honest and Paul (Frank is on holiday) the Pendragon film looks like fun, fun fun fun fun fun until my popa took my T-Bird away. . . . But one wonders, with all that action flying about in that trailor, why no glimpse of our favourite battleaxe - Thunder Child.

Congratulations to whoever it was that made the Ed Wood comparison.
I was stumbling to find a way of describing what I have just seen, and couldn't think of anything amateurish enough. But "Plan 9 from Outer SPace" hits the nail on the head.
Make no mistake, that is what you are all looking at here.
There seems to be a lot of people who are cutting this abominable sub-fan-film standard, some slack, simply because it's WOTW related material. If it was put forward as a fan film I would be too. But it's not. Hines is presenting this as a commercial product. This is so far below the radar of TV as to be invisible.

oh come on tinckelly ..stop being so negative, read some of the lock threads and you will SEE why we are giving this film slack ... we all thought it was dead ..at least we will have chance to see it , amature or not, if SS hadn't of made his this would have been more then adequate..infact it would have been the best version so far, it beats the 53 version IMO . it is unfortunate that SS has released his at the same sort of time. as it does put a slight downer on this film effects wise, but what the heck i think it's fab that it isn't as dead as we first thought, however that said ..... if you don't like it then don't order the DVD,

At last I've finally seen it after it took ages to download. First of all I have to say that the music is a million times better than the other trailer and actually sounds like a real orchestra. I also do quite like that musical score. It's still hard to make out what the fx are like but the peoples accents don't sound too bad to me.
One thing that bothers me though is - it looks like a lot of the filming has been done around Seattle. I might be wrong but if that's the case then the scenery could look a lot different. Different trees etc.
I'm off to watch it again.

it is hard to make out ..but does it look like the FM's are superimposed against a blue screen ..ie models moved a abit at a time, old school effects if you like,
The martian looks well creepy, I have to admit he has got it right there .

If you honestly believe that, Tinckelly, then why are you wasting your time reading or posting here? Sounds like Spielberg's film will be right up your alley.

I'm sorry. I have an opinion.
It bothers me when people knock things to make themselves seem clever, and it equally bothers me, in cases like this, when people praise things that are awful.

And like you they too have an opinion. Now, lets not go down that avenue again as in other threads in the Pendragon section.

Well if in fact you're not knocking this just to make yourself look clever (or to get the PHB riled up), then I must conclude you've never actually seen an Ed Wood film.
