I don't think it's so much "dishonesty" as lack of experience and resources.
The only thing that's important in my view is that the movie gets completed and shown. I really don't care when and how. I am in no hurry to see any of them as I have yet to see a faithful movie adaptation of a Wells novel.
I am curious to see all of them, but I don't have high hopes for any.

I agree with Rusti's reasons for starting this thread. WOTWORLDS is a classic book as you all know and a classic book deserves classic treatment. Let's get out of this thing where by anyone who questions Pendragons ability to deliver is a Pendragon or Hines basher.
I think WOTW fans have every right to be worried about what any film makers will do with such a classic work of fiction. LOTRINGS fans [ including myself ] would have gone ape if Peter Jackson had f****d up their favourite book.
As I've said numerous times - I have virtually zero interest in Spielbergs film and yes you're right Marztok big studios certainly can make a balls up of classic novels, which is what the Time Machine certainly was and as you'll also all know - Hollywood has a history of making a complete mess of anything Wells related.
This book should be treated with the same respect as LOTRINGS and only the best talent and film making techniques should do for this.

What I did find fascinating was how the supporters for one film irnically knocked the other and the other way around.
Forgive me for raising this Rusti, I'm not making a point but a little historical observation on how you instantly said that all your hopes rested in Speilbergs camp now, and for weeks afterwards you were praising, what I would personally view as questionable adaptations and insisted that we should forget about Hine's lego house.
Again, Rusti don't think I was narrowing you out, I merely picked out one example out of many i could remember from many posters here on the forum.
I personally have no real preference in the film wars here, but I do want to give this film a chance, nothing more.

My god, people are so emotive - the sun will rise in the eastern sky tomorrow!
I'm not claiming Hine's production, and Hines himself, are any more or less talented than anyone else out there. He has lucked into some money, well, that's how most films below major studio release get made - don't blame him for that! He has been less than regular in posting his updates - I will not say honest, because frankly, we are in no real position to judge that. Maybe he is dead busy, or cash strapped, or mired in legalities preventing him from saying anything much.
I reserve judgement -either it will be good, bad or middling. He's having a go. May many of us who want to commit something to celluloid have a chance to be so fortunate.

You know ...I really don't know what to make of this Why have we suddenly become psycoanalysts all of a sudden and can tap into Hines mind, Why do people who don't even know him or i dare say have even seen him suddenly declare with utmost sincerity that he is the spawn of the devil, a two bit producer who will produce Wotw as complete b/s, BASED ON ERM.......BUGGA ALL REALLY, in relation to OUR everyday lives, I don't have this morbid fascination with Mr Hines reasons and conspiracy theories and trying to second guess him. OK the website ain't been updated and in some opinions crap ....so what. IT DOES IT'S JOB DUNNIT ie allows you to view info........ok well if you notice this website has a spelling mistake ...look at coditions under the main title ...that hasn't been updated has it..thats been like that for ages ... Does that mean Rob is a toerag/jerk because he hasn't updated it ...NO This production is not yet in our reality ...IT AIN'T BEEN SEEN BY US so how can anybody say with certainty that its gonna be rubbish or good . ok I will wait until the films out then make an honest judgement but if the films comes out 25 april 2037, never comes out, or comes out on time ...then I will see it and think nothing more of it, If you feel you can't support or are not looking forward to this film ... then so what ...I don't support Man U or Leeds or the Boston Redsocks ...so I don't go to see them ...it really doesn't effect my life in any way.

This site is updated every time new info comes out, its changing and evolving all the time, and its a fan site, run for fans by fans for free with nothing to gain.
The Pendragon web site never ever changed over months and months and that was a movie web site, on top of that it was extremely bad with no style and still is.
Comparing this sit to Pendragon is like comparing a skoda to a BMW, just doesnt hold water does it.

My major issue with pendragon is not with Hines and its not with the quality of the production, I am sure that they are doing the best they can with the budget they have and good luck to them with that. But I have studied business for a good few years now and i know that its very poor practice as a business to mis inform, not in form or re inform too late, your customers. Unfortunatley, Pendragon seem to be doing this on a regular basis, deadlines come and go with either no reason as to why, or we get a short press release wen its too late telling us (in very little detail) that "we are delaying it". You may ask well what right do we have to be told WHY the production is being delayed? Well personally i think a customer has EVERY right to know why a product has been delayed but even if they dont necesarilly have a right to know, as a business it is good sense to keep them informed so they know what is going on and why. If you dont, customers are left wondering what the hell is going on and there is only so long they will keep the faith, and the certainly wont come back to you.
