But in the novel all the soldiers, cavalry, artillery etc. etc. wore traditional red and white uniforms. I first noticed it on the teaser trailer when the Fighting Machine walked over the gun crew. Unless of course Pendragon have set it a few years later. Wells failed to realize that at the time he published the novel, the British were no longer using red uniforms. He set the novel at the beginning of the 20th century, in other words 1901 or later. So whether Pendragon decides to set it a few years later or not makes no difference. Hines is quoted as saying they went to great lengths to use period uniforms, using clothing from museums in some cases, so presumably they will be using the uniforms actually used in 1901 or whenever.

Looking through the book Wells only mentions the red jackets once, theres all sorts of military types in the book.
