I still get site disabled on Pendragon.
I can't see the magazine links on Stuffo, but that's probably me being thick & blind!!
If Paramount HAVE launched legal proceedings tho', I'm goona be mad as Hell!! If they had nothing to fear from Timbo's version, why did Paramount suddenly change it's schedule to a fast-tracked 10 weeks, if not to simply overshadow Tims version? Tim would have got a lot more publicity if Paramount kept to their original schedule. Instead, Tim's getting lost in the media frenzy round Spielberg & Cruise.

That maybe so but Hines is quoted as saying that all the rights disputes were settled, during that time it may have been the cause of the original WOTW project being canned, thats when they used the excuse of 9/11 to cover the fact paramount had laid down the law. Letting a film company virtualy complete a movie and then pull som elegal loop hole about rights out of the bag wouldnt stand up in court when paramount wouldnt have anything to gain from doing so. Anyone not going to see Spielbergs version wasnt going anyway, it had nothing to do with an alternate version by some small unknown low budget company.
I dont believe for a minute its the work of Paramount, I do believe Paramount caused the original cancelation but thats about it. If anything is wrong its an internal matter for Pendragon.
I just checked the site again and its there but not complete, maybe its an overhaul after all.

Come on guys, we don't realy think its paramount do we? Paramount have been in the buisness long enough to know Pendragon wouldnt make a dent, its not even clear its making it to the box office, how is that a threat. Paramount is armed to the teeth with muscle, they have big big names, a huge budget and the mighty marketing engine rumbling up to full power, why on earth would they spend money taking Pendragon back to court to stop them releasing a totaly different movie when the fans would have seen both garanteed?quote] The Motile: I agree that site probs. are the likely cause, but I got a chuckle out of your belief in Paramount's corporate benevolence. You might want to reconsider this. Its not benevolence, im not an idiot, its buisness plain and simple, why would paramount spend money in court with nothing to gain? The original story is in the public domain anyway, Paramount may not have any say over an authentic version. Im sure if it made good buisness sense they would crush Pendragon like a bug, but it doesnt, in fact it alienates some of the fanbase.

If Paramount went that course, it would infuriate(sp) a lot of fans, and bring lots of negativity to their production. And Paramount has nothing to fear from Mr. Hines' production.
Seeing the Pendragon site down again, dissabled even, worries me though. I hope we'll get an explaination to it all soon.

This is all fu*king crazy, what the hell is going on? I mean it all stinks to high heaven doesnt it? Disabled? I have never seen a website disabled unless a criminal act has taken place -(im NOT saying its criminal just that ive only ever seen disabled on sites shut down for that reason but im not an expert )- even when you don't pay the bill it doesnt say disabled. Its out in 48 days, 7 weeks today actualy, in movie land thats nothing, and the site is disabled?

Didn't mean to suggest that you were, but you're assuming that Pmount's legal division is as reasonable as you are, that it behaves ethically, that professionals came together and discussed the situation thoughtfully and came to the same conclusion that you did. I have no direct experience with Pmout legal but would imagine it could be quite formidable. Pdragon barely seems to have the $ to finish the movie, much less fight Pmount in court. Both parties know this. As for alienating the fan base...Sure. Let's all boycott the movie. That'll bring Paramount Pictures to its knees.

Sounds like the usual Hines hyperbole! Thanks Pdragon for the update and glad you're well. Following your movie progress has been quite a roller coaster ride. I can't say it hasn't been fun.

Due to a recent upsurge in webtraffic totalling in millions of additional hits per day... Millions? Yeah right... More like Tim forgot to pay Honest Ron's ISP Services (jingle: Honest Ron, Honest Ron, the others are a con) the 58p a month it costs to host his site.
