I popped in at 08:11 GMT and it was fine then.
It's Thursday now, though, so we could be in for an update! Most of the other updates went through on Weds/Thurs.
Here's hoping!
UPDATE: Popped in again 10:00 GMT - all up and running as before. No new content yet though. I was wondering though why the gallery hasn't been updated. None of the new shots issued to EveOfTheWar are on there yet.

This doesn't look good, I heard a rumour (sort of a friend of a friend thing). My Friends friend is doing a degree in computer grahics and programming (CGI software etc). Apparently his lecturer is involved with a graphics package that a 'low budget' War of the Worlds film was using. He was apparently annoyed that his input to the film won't be seen as the film has been shut down by legal issues with Paramount. Now, I heard this a few days ago and took it with a pinch of salt as it couldn't be confirmed, and I didn't know if it was the Jeff Wayne or Pendragon version. But now the Pendragon site has been shut down,, I know the other day though it said it was down due to traffic issues, but now it says it's been disabled. Also doesn't seem likey if it is true that Jeff Wayne's version is involved as he holds rights over the musical and it's title. I will chase down my friend and see if I can learn more, hope it isn't true. Will report back when I know more,,,,

:-/after reading posts on this matter i will point out that last night the site was functioning properly! Today is a different matter all together, why has it been disabled? is it due to some legal teddy throwing by Spielberg/ paramount? or is the site just having a major face lift? only time will tell i guess but i do hope that certain companies are not using strong arm tatics!

b*****cks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know whats annoying! This is a classic English book, yet it seems to have had its copyright screwed by the Americans. First Jeff Waynes and now if the rumours are true...paramount. Paramount can call it business if so. I will not be buying their version of wotw if its true. Except on pirate maybe. No profit for them from me!!!

If this is as a result of legal pressure from Paramount I do hope everybody on this forum will raise as much noise as possible. Whatever your views of the Pendragon version it's the only faithful version of the book we have ever had. To have it snatched away at this stage would be unbearable and would demand as much anti Paramount publicity as we could muster
Let's just hope it's cheapo web hosting or lots of traffic

Well, it was OK at 10:00 GMT, and now all you get is:
"Sorry, the site you requested has been disabled"
Which is very worrying.
Syrtismajor, I doubt this is down to legal issues. Tim has said in an interview that all legal issues were ironed out ages ago... he states that he has a letter from the legal division from Paramount allowing him to go ahead with his version, as there enough significant differences that the two do not get confused. He also spent a lot of time (and money) researching all the legal issues and copyrights to ensure that he was on safe ground. I just hop he covered EVERYTHING and didn't miss one small technical legality...
It could just be another glitch from the other day - perhaps he promised to pay the bill, so they reinstated his site. Perhaps he didn't pay so they disabled it!
On the plus side, he could have ditched homestead, and be setting up an improved site with another provider, with more bandwidth, space and stuff. Homestead may have disabled the site to prevent him advertising his new host!!
All we can do it watch this space, and keep a sharp eye out for an update to this page, or a new site. "Keep watching the sites..." (to paraphrase the now legendary Howard Hawks).

Despite hines indie status he does seem to get more support from the fans. Lets hope its not put the wind up them. Legal permission can be withdrawn under certain conditions.
It would ruin a good year for us and I would not care for the paramount version after this.

HailTheTripod, I do agree with you and have read the same interview. The only thing that bothers me about the rights being cleared up is the fact that Hines said it! Most people seem to be unsure of his honesty, including me. I'm not doubting the film at all, just the things he says about the budget, effects etc. Like I said, what I heard was only a rumour which I hope isn't true. Hopefully the website will return soon with an apology for making all our hearts skip a beat! This is one film I am looking forward too, but if the site isn't back up in a week I'll start fretting.

Come on guys, we don't realy think its paramount do we? Paramount have been in the buisness long enough to know Pendragon wouldnt make a dent, its not even clear its making it to the box office, how is that a threat. Paramount is armed to the teeth with muscle, they have big big names, a huge budget and the mighty marketing engine rumbling up to full power, why on earth would they spend money taking Pendragon back to court to stop them releasing a totaly different movie when the fans would have seen both garanteed?
No it doesnt make sense. I see 4 possibilities.
(1) Site problems.
(2) Site improvements / overhaul.
(3) Movie cancelled due to Pendragon going bust.
(4) Movie never existed and is a pre curser to Chrome.

Hmmmm, I think that if the powers that be do watch this site then some kind of confirmation or news or anything would be much appreciated. I have supported the P.P version since I first heard about it and am confident they will sort it out, however my thinning hair is taking a bit of a kicking at the moment.

I've tried searchin the web for any other info. www.waroftheworldsmovienews.com has also been disabled. I had a quick squizz at Stuffo: First report, 3 parts of the interview, teaser trailer and "messages from the cast" trailer are all still present. HOWEVER...the theatrical trailer has gone!! If you also naviagte to MAIN > STUFFO > MOVIES > WAR OF THE WORLDS THEATRICAL TRAILER all you get is the drawing and title - no trailer. I'm viewing this as positive. Because the teaser & MFTC trailers are still there, I'm going to assume that the Theatrical Trailer has completed FX and is awaiting upload, and that the Pendragon are having difficulty getting the revamped site online with all new features!!

The site is back up! (minus all images though) Beginning to agree that this is nothing more than web issues. Won't breath a sigh of relief yet,, but close!

I think we should all just give it a few days and wait and see what happens. It could just be server problems etc...

You might want to reconsider this.
