Last night I put forward an argument that this whole HG WELLS T.W.O.T.WORLDS thing could be a publicity stunt to get attention Pendragon woudn't have otherwise had for CHROME.
For those who didn't read it - the thinking of my argument was that W.O.T.WORLDS fans would fork out loads of cash to see CHROME and then HG WELLS T.W.O.T.WORLDS would mysteriously never turn up.
I could well be wrong about that but isn't it strange how last night after we'd all discussed this and other conspiracy theories we find out about a certain persons health and today CHROME appears on A.I.C.NEWS whilst that site has virtually ignored Pendragons T.W.O.T.WORLDS [ apart from a few fan comments ] for quite a while.
They've concentrated solely on Spielbergs W.O.T.WORLDS film.
Again I might well be wrong and I hope I am but it makes you think doesn't it!

The trouble with conspiracy theories is that they are subjective and pollymorphic, you can make them fit almost any shape frame work you want, therefore you can never say they are anything more than conjecture so they lack credability. Also conspiracy theories are more exciting than real life usualy is, like ufo conspiracy theories, they are 100& more exciting than 99% of the truth.
However there is a thing called 'infarence' (is that spelt right? Sorry im dyslexic) of guilt, where by you can find sombody guilty in court as lond as you have enough circumstantial evidence that points to guilt, this is used mostly in theft cases in Britain.
My point is if a conspiracy theory has enough facts that cant be argued with and they all point to the theory being correct then the theory becomes un proven fact among theorists.
I dont think theres a lot of evidence to suggest such a thing as WOTW doesnt exist, I think it does it just the buisness side of the proceedings that are letting it down at the moment. But it doesnt take much to light the fire of conspiracy theories anf the website going down can only fan the flames.

It's certainly easy to get carried away with different theories and I've done it myself. The usual putting together of 2 + 2 resulting in 5 routine - but it just seems to be one thing after another with Pendragon.
It seems a bit odd to me that A.I.C.NEWS [ wasn't aint it cools Harry Knowles supposed to be in Pendragons updated movie ] haven't mentioned Pendragons WAR film for ages and all of a sudden they're talking about CHROME. Where's the HG WELLS T.W.O.T.WORLDS coverage been on that site recently?
I've just been over to A.I.C.NEWS and from what I can gather loads of people have gone over to Pendragons site because of their article and maybe this caused Pendragons site to crash.

The crashing site theory only holds water if Pendragon (in fact Hines himself, as he runs the website) has a bargain basement cheapo bandwidth, with homestead its the silver option, $4.95.
Thats supposed to be a movie web site?

Well he probably started paying for the ftp space a long while back before all this interest started hitting the site...and never got around to upgrading his account. And then he spent $12,000 on copyright research as you say. Heh.

Sorry but a conspiricy theory by Pendragon to go out and deceve everyone to get them into Chrome...lolol
I agree with Motile. The buisness side of the film is vastly letting it down like not near enough press exposure. If anything, i'd say that Pendragon are releaseing Chrome in 2005 along with War (??) in an effort for one to compliment the other. (as such) They are keeping their options open as it were. Those who are not interested in Chrome, go see War. Its pendragons attempt at flooding the market with its product (if that makes sense.)
and don't forget...the new pics weren't on the site and some where quite big files. They may just be upgrading as it were.

Why the hell would i want to see "Chrome" just because i'm a WotW's fan?. D.F. Maybe to get an idea of what their W.O.T.WORLDS film might turn out like. To see their special effects, what their acting, script direction is like? ?? Etc, etc!

I can just imagine the trailor
'Coming to a cinama near you, well if we can find one that will except or who have not heard of us until we walk through the doors with a box of old 8mm reels, a film by a bloke with a camera, written by somebody a long time ago and who had a British accent about little people from a planet in outer space who come to Earth and seem a little angry about something. Featuring people who are actors who have appeared in other stuff but not with nasty little creatues in and seem jolly nice people. Music by someone with a Casio keyboard, Special Effects by anyone who knows how to do them for $1.50 an hour. Coming this year, or maybe next, well who knows'

Yeah right!, what a load of sh!te. D.F. So David if Pendragon announces they've delayed W.O.T.WORLDS for a while and they then put CHROME out in the cinemas - you're saying you wouldn't be curious enough to go and see it to get an idea what type of thing Pendragon are capable of?

I thought the CHROME trailor was passible and looked promising, though if CHROME came out before WOTW I would not watch it, its WOTW I wan't to see not CHROME as this film does not interest me.

It's true that most of us just want our promised War of the Worlds. But I'd see Chrome just because it looks interesting. Unique enough at least.
