It was at the back of Starburst magazine a few weeks ago. So PP do know how to do the whole major press thing.

I thought the CHROME trailor was passible and looked promising, though if CHROME came out before WOTW I would not watch it, its WOTW I wan't to see not CHROME as this film does not interest me. H_C Not all W.O.T.WORLDS fans would go but I bet about 95% would. Again, just to see what they're capable of for W.O.T.WORLDS.

If i didn't know it was done by a company who were bringing out ( ) WOTW then i don't know about seeing it on Big screen, but id certainly rent it from Blockbusters under 'Chessey Film' (im a sucker for watching stuff like that). Might even buy it on DVD if i liked it and could get hold of it. But id see it in the flicks now to get a feel for the work of PP. might have to be quick tho. If this comes out it'll come and then go like that.

Some could see it this way, if they go and see CHROME before WOTW and the FX in Chrome are not up to standard they could be put off seeing WOTW, but then the FX in WOTW could be bettered.

Some people don't need to see Chrome to be put off from seeing WOTW. lol Me however...I'm viewing it even if it's totally lame. It's the American way.

The trouble with the SFX magazine is that sometimes it struggles to fill its pages, it uses anything even remotely sci-fi just to push those covers further apart. They even put stuff in thas isnt sci-fi putting a sci-fi slanton soething that has no sci-fi element in it, anyone remember the momento review? "edited together almost like a time travel romp" thats waht they said.
I went off SFX when they gave the movie Tomb Raider 2 five stars. I do like the book reviews though, they got me into Peter F Hamilton.

And if SFX did a report, then it must be true, lol. Quite possibly but you never know. Magazines and tv companies have been duped before. I mean if you're an extremely low budget bunch of film makers and your film will never get wide publicity what's better than to make a bold claim such as you're making a big well known film, to get plenty of publicity.

The way I see it the quality of the Chrome trailer was far superior to any WOTW material so far released but the Chrome trailer was still crap as far as movie trailer go, it looked ok CG wise (not amazing but ok) but the whole thing lacked structure, pace, narrative and had the same Hines unreal quality seen in WOTW stuff. I wouldnt use Chrome to judge WOTW, I think they are totaly different, besides I read that Chrome was filmed entirely in studios.

I've never read SFX magazine, only seen the scan over at eveofthewar.com
But isn't it from Future publishing? I used to love that, but last year they announced a huge exlusive Halo 2 article in their Xbox mag, exlaiming "Think it was over? Think again!" and then appearantly all they did was include a booklet or article about multiplayer strategies.
But anywho, Mr. Hines' WOTW did got mentioned in a magazine, so it must have gained some attention outside us WOTW fans.

Of course it will do, its War Of The Worlds, how can it not get mentioned? Its insane to think that it wouldnt. Any of us could set up a company and announce a war of the worlds project and somebody will print an article, it doesnt actualy mean a thing.
When people talk of it not getting mentioned its more inline with not mentioned by any cinemas or websites, its not on t.v. or any of that exposure needed to make a success of your movie you have invested 42 million dollars into.

Yeh! and their letters page is complete crap. They don't really discuss anything. SFX only seem to pick the readers letters that make smartarse comments and nothing else.

It was my Grandad (he was an ace dude) who got me into the book as he had read it when he was a kid and his dad was around when it came out and had an original copy! he even remembered how the Americans reacted in 1938 over the radio broadcast. How he laughed!
