...It's suppose to be released at the end of March, right? Why is it that when I go to fandango or any other movie website, I see and hear nothing about the movie at all? It's like it doesn't exist outside of here and Pendragon's site... I'm really starting to question if the movie will even be released in the US as of March.

Bizarre aint it. Spielbergs is coming out in June and that film is already getting publicity everywhere. Pendragons is supposed to be coming out in March but hardly anything. I wonder if something a bit strange is goin on.

My theory is that it will be delayed, however they will not want to delay it too much otherwise it will clash with Spielbergs effort.

Sorry to say it lads
It's a B-Movie with a B-Movie budget. It's not likely to get a great deal of coverage, it's the post marketing that will have the bigger effect than the pre-marketing. Thats the reality I'm afraid.
That said, I'm still looking forward to SOME ANNOUNCMENT ABOUT A UK RELEASE!!!
Hope that shout echos in the ears of Time Hines.

Yeah, do remember that this is an 'independant' film. Not being from one of the major studios, you're not going to see the media blitz. Or even the media yawn.
You'll see this movie on a 'art house' marquee and in previews in other 'art house' theaters. That's about the way it goes for these kind of flicks, unless and until they start to create enough buzz post-opening that the big studios smell money and one of them licences the thing for distribution.

Maybe it would help if Hines would not make grand claims that it will be in cinemas March 30th, even the "cast messages" conveyed the impression that it was on a par with a big budget distribution with statements like "come join us on March 30 in a cinema near you, look forward to seeing you". I think even the actors thought it was bigger than it was. Chrome was due out 2003, its now got no release date, will WOTW go the same way?

I had this horrible nightmare (litterally, I dreamt it) -That Hines delayed the movie until June! Aaaargh! Luckily it wasn't real.

Personally I think Hines would do well to delay until next year.
He should mix it up with Wayne's 'alternative-authentic' version rather than go summer to summer with Spielberg. in the summer A.S ( after spielbergs) a whole new legion of fans will be thirsting for 'an authentic' version.
If he sits tight - uses the time to get the FX and other 'issues' ironed out by this time next year he could really have a HUGE hit on his hands - the money men will see the potential and he may well get it picked up by a major distributor. Alse he can then guage the reaction to Spielbergs and 'adjust' his piece accordingly.
I think he'd be DAFT to release it in 2005. I just don't see ANY gain in trying to 'one up' Spielberg in the release. It'll make ZERO impact - in fact I can see 'ordinary people' not seeing it because they will wait until they've seen Speilbergs first by then he's lost his cinema runs..
Synergy - his and Wayne's piece are both synergistic - Spielbergs piece is just like the huge icebreaker cutting the path...
I say WAIT - PERFECT THE PIECE - MAKE IT A TIMELESS MASTERPIECE - THE FANS WILL WAIT...!
After all weve already waited 4 years - whats another year

He may not have a choice but to "put it off" if a distibuter isnt found very very soon.

I have a feeling that Mr Hines is playing his cards close to his chest, maybe in an attempt to put the frighteners up Mr Spielberg.. I think Mr Hines knows what he his doing and it's part of a plan..Think of it .. 2 films on the same subject, SS out in June , so to steal SS thunder pp say ours out 30th March...look how much interest THAT has gained from us!!!!
Can somebody tell me though ... Was PP's version announced before SS version. If SS was first this could answer some of the points .. PP are holding off, because of the ss version.
Presumably PP are going to make a big announcement VERY shortly before the film is due out.

They just appeared out of nowhere in early 2001. Of course then 9/11 happened and then they announced they were making a faithful version instead. Then I think in 2002 - Cruise was rumoured to be buying up the rights for W.O.T.WORLDS.

TOMOHAWK: Spielberg anounced that he was making WOTW at the beggining if 2004, they were looking for the rights in 2003, I think it went to court actualy. PP have been making it since 2001.
Fallingstar: Please dont tell me you believe they changed the entire project because of 9/11? Come on dude, that was an excuse that nobody could question because it would be anti 9/11 which is still a taboo, they changed for another reason. Probably over rights to the project. remeber they changed about the time paramount went looking for the rights for Spielberg.
TOMOHAWK: If you think Spielberg would be scared of anything Hines can pump out then I think your judgment is slightly off. The only thing he would be scared of is actualy seeing it! LOL ;D

I know what Pendragon's announcement will be. "Update two days from now." And come the day..."April Fools! The movie will be out in another five years!" just kidding, but seriously...

No chappies I didn't mean frightners as in SS having sleepless nights ;D ;D i mean't in a business way ..i dunno being the first to release a film and to get the money in, after all who but the die hardest fan are gonna go see a second WOTW in one year ... I mean some people will go with the "seen it once this year ...I wait for the DVD for the other one"
Is it just a coincidence that the two version are coming out the same year!!! or is one trying to outdo the other in the old bums on seats race

actually mot as a young fetus inside his mothers womb he would reenact the thunderchild scene creating booming sound effects and thunder like explosions by striking his mothers drum like belly from the inside.
he first read the book through fetal symbiotic osmosis - as his mother read - so did he...
so one could say it's been a life long obsession...
In fact his father first read the book in 1932 and as a mere 'seedling' in his daddys' groin he was keen to do an adaptation even then.
Now that is what frightens spielberg...

Don't forget a lot of films did change things because of it - like SPIDERMAN for instance so who knows. Again, I don't know what to believe with Pendragon - they're a complete mystery to me.

Its like saying a small child is a fair match in the ring with tyson, its just insane to think it so best leave SS out of it to be fair to PP.
