Definately Tom Baker!
Not only does he have a great voice with the timbre to invoke a range of moods, but the name evokes thoughts of freshly baked bread.
What a combination!!

What about Pierce Brosnan - he too has that distinctive voice.
;D Hey what about Leslie Phillips (Carry On Films) ;D
' Well hello there, ding dong. I say, lets not worry about these pesky martians, lets worry about other things' ;D
Just occured to me - so far there has been no mention of any narration for the film.

took a bit of time on this before posting, but i have to agree that Tom Baker would be excellent as the Narrator. that distictive voice is very well known world wide and i feel it would be great for him to take on this project! you can catch Toms vocal talents in the cinemas now in the animated film of "The Magic Roundabout". ;D

H_C, Williams may be a pratt, but by all accounts, he is pretty good as Dougal!!
I will certainly be looking forward to downloading...Oops, I mean paying for a Cinema ticket to watch the film.

What about Pierce Brosnan - he too has that distinctive voice. Actually, he would make a very good choice in my opinion. I would have voted for him. As it is I voted for Jonathon Pryce. He is very well-spoken.

i just had a look at the results so far and had imagined Anthony Hopkins as the Narrator, ok like many on the list he would be ideal for the role. ok tongue in cheek time... he could always do the part in a Hannibal Lecter style! if that's not going to put a chill down your spine what will? ;D Seriously if i was going to choose someone for the narrator i would be stuck between A Hopkins & T Baker! thank god i'm not in Jeff Waynes shoes right mow!

Hmm- a tricky choice. Anthony Hopkins would be able to pull of a similar performance to old Richard Burton, but Tom Baker would also be great.
What about David Warner- no, would remind me too much of Tron! Great film, but no Disney please!!
Michael Wincott's voice is great- similar to Jon Hurt, but gravellier...
OH I DON"T KNOW!!!! How about just keeping the original narration dialogue? ;D

I voted for Anthony Hopkins. When I first saw him in Silence Of The Lambs all that time ago his voice sent a shiver down my spine, not because of character, but because his voice reminded me of the person on the 'album-which-scared-the-living-crap-out-of-me!' (that's a patented line by the way ;-) ) If JW is seeking a similar voice, then AH is the man. Alternatively, there are many more fine British actors who he could choose from if he wanted a different approach. Many of the names already listed are good candidates (Wincott's voice is good but has too much gravel though )

Tom Baker , great voice... Antony Hopkins, good! Micheal Wincott ,who? John Hurt , cheastburster man right? great Patrick Stewart , later star-trek right? good Matt Rhys , who? Ioan Gruffudd , who? Johnathan Price , who again? I must know this one..
I havent voted, yet, but I'm stil banking on, if it's just a movie to "play over" all or most of the musical album then just the recordings of Richard Burton, but probably one of those in the list if they're using new voices etc...

Hywel Bennet has a good voice.. not unlike John Hurt's. Krys... Jonathan Pryce was the bad guy in 'Tomorrow Never Dies'. He played Elliot Carver, the media baron who wanted to start a war to get his ratings up.

Morning,
How about Alfred Molina, good performance as Doc Ock in Spiderman 2 and is a good vocal actor (classically trained like Patrick Stewart / A Hopkins etc) .. maybe he would make a good choice?

Does anyone know if anybody has been approached to be the narrator? I think it should be Tom Baker, maybe sticking neck out but ...he was the best Doctor. He has a chilling, well spoken voice that can be insane, friendly or booming and appocalyptic, just what the part calls for.
