You need a bit more detailing on the body. Along the horozontal line, their are several nocks and cuts, all for unknown purposes, but they serve to add some flair if nothing else.
Also, its worth remenbering that the Trimm tripod used a three, triangle like layout for the leg poles.

A look at the schematics within the special edition should illustrate what I mean better.
I think if you made these from copper wiring, and then the cover parts from thin balsa, stick on either side, if carved well, it could be studry, and loyal to the original design.

Nice one Marcus, I'll do those little "vent" holes in the body today.
For the legs I'm going to try using quarter inch dowels arranged in threes as you say with the balsa detail.

Rear leg constructionSimilar to the other two leg sections, but vertically symmetrical. Made again from dowel, balsa, plasticard and plastic tape. Filling, priming and painting......my thumb got more paint than the leg! Main leg constructionMade from dowel, plasticard and plastic tape they are remarkably light and strong. It'll be standing on it's own three legs tomorrow!

Andy - "Time to go hon!"
Wife - "Go? Go where?"
Andy - "It's... a christmas treat. To... a spar!"
Wife - "Really?"
Andy - "No. I'm (Said really quickly, and somewhat afraid) trading you in for a model fighting machine. Now, hurry, I want you in the post by the afternoon pick-up."
Wife - "A model what?"
Andy - "Your not helping your case for staying."
Wife - "You can't trade me for a toy!"
Andy - "Ohhh... but it's... it's really cool................................................ pleeeeease? (Off-hand) And it's not a toy."
