I know, I just decided to give it a page on its own saves it getting lost in all the other posting on that thread.
We could do with a bigger and clearer picture

Looks like a three legged tripod to me
Maybe the machince in this version each serve a military purpose, as did the various fighting machines in the Jeff Wayne game.

If you look at the machine on the far right, they ARE tripods but each leg splits off into 2 near the top. Perhaps this gives extra stability? I wonder if each 'sub leg' can move seperately?

This debate is raging over at EOTW.Com - so I have sent Asylum a question - 'how many legs are on the machines'.

Hmmmm, that would mean 2 things though - 1/ being constructive when its a Sunday evening and 2/ puttig me bottle of Bud down long enough to even do it - but I can't be arsed ;D

More interested in where this is suposed to be. Washington DC..I Guess.... from the Capitol Building , although most State capitols are domed and modeled after the one in DC. If it is Washington, and that pillar in the foreground is supposed to be the Washington Monument, is it about as accurate in its perspective as Pendragon was in the Big Ben shot......

It would appear to be Washington DC. I did read over on EOTW that one member from DC said that they got all the perspective wrong in that shot.

H_C As someone who has been trained in the film industry the simple answer to that question is: films deal with fantasy, so what if we get it a little wrong. As long as it looks good...

Yep, it's definately DC. I used to live there. And the orientation is wrong. In a straight-on shot of the capitol like this, the monument would be directly in the center, thus blocking the dome. Looks like they just shoved it over to the right to get it out of the way of the shot.
Orson Wells and Speilberg replaced London with New York, but DC works too, as it (like London) is the US capitol.
So could this be the "Dead London" chapter in the novel? "Dead DC?"

Looks good, very atmospheric.
Of course, Harryhausen did it first with 'Earth Versus the Flying Saucers'. ;D

No sleep lost Mate. I'm looking forward to this one, just like you. I'm not fault-finding. But for some strange reason I suspect that if Pendragon had gotten Big Ben and Parlamant wrong, you wouldn't have shrugged it off as casually as you do here. Okay Mods, okay. I'll say it: BACK ON TOPIC PLEASE.
