"Pic of Cruise and Dacota trapped in house!"
Spielberg: "So then I thought, hey, with all those malfunctions maybe Jaws would be more frightening if I kept the shark largely off camera. I remember a particularily amusing annecdote from Roy Schneider to the effect of..."
Dakota: "Please, Mr Cruise! Make him stop! Let's get out of here!" *Sob*
Cruise: "I can't! He's blocking the stairs! God, he just goes on and on...""
Spielberg: "... then I built an extension onto the extension, so now my house is a circle. What's your favourite humming noise? Mine is this. "Hmmmmm." Thats a fridge humming. Or how about this? "Hmmm." That's a man humming. I fitted a gas boiler recently, and..."
Dakota: "Oh feck!"
Cruise: *Blub*

Does anyone think that set looks just like the one from the George Pal film. I realise it's a destroyed house and there aren't many variations on that theme, however....

Thats what I thought as soon as I laid eyes on it, its the wooden slats on the walls, maybe its a homage to Pal or maybe its just the arcitecture of the area. It does give them small gaps through which to view the feeding.

Yeah motile, it's those slats. It's got to be a homage to george pal. BUT, i suppose alot of american houses are made of wood, so it's probably a common place site... that is if your house happens to get crushed by a martian cylinder.

I wonder if there are survivors in the plane and do they get plucked from their seats and drained? A bit like watching celebrity big brother.

Sorry, I can't resist this one:
Cruise to Spielberg: "So, who's going to be the Parson..."
Don't know how well that joke translates outside of England though...
