Here's one of my cherished possesions.
Got this one Christmas when i were about 5 or 6.
It's an audio play and, like the 53 and 05 films, is set in contempary times. Think its meant to be in England, judging by some place names, but things like "the Capitol Building" make it sort of a UK/US hybrid.
Unlike the films though it has the Tripods and is suprisngly close to the book. The sound of the cylinder and the Heat Ray still are chilling.
It's American and looks like it was produced in about '66.
Anyone know any more?
