Is it me or is the Martian campaign screwd on this game. Whenever I win a battle I can't leave the map. Can this probelem be solved?

Yes!
1/ Press the eject button on your PC.
2/ Remove disc from tray
3/ Place disc on floor
4/ Hit it with a lump hammer
