Anyone tried the new Bond game, From Russia With Love. Sadly, there's a dearth of decent games for my trusty ol' GameCube these days, and this looks like the best of the bunch right now. However, Goldeneye aside, I've been burned by Bond (and EA) games before. Anyone know if it's any good? What about the multiplayer?

I saw this in the shop the other day and have considered it. Check out the reviews on Gamefaqs.. That's what I usually do. There aren't many there currently, but there are links to many others on other game sites. Amongst the poorly written fanboy trash, you can usually find one or two that will give you an idea of what a game is like. www.gamefaqs.com/search/index.html?game=from+russia+with+loveIn a nutshell, it seems like the character models are spot on, Sean Connery does the JB voice (but sounds more like Bond's grandad), the multiplayer is supposedly good and it's a bit short. It averages about 7 out of 10 in most of the reviews I've seen around. Might be worth a buy in a few months when there are a few second hand copies about.

I think the best place for reviews is Gamecentral.
Its the small teletext service that is completely independant, and unbias, and their reviews are genius. Its updated dailey, with News, Two page of games reviews/previews and a letter page. The writter also have a great sense of humor, and their a sense of friendship that floats around.
Their approach to games is also wonderfully mature, and something that other games reviews/magazines/websites should really strife for.
Its on Channel 4, Teletext page 305, and has also gotten a new digital page added recently, that can be found on - Sky Channel 103, and on ITV1 and channel 100 for Freeview. Just hit the text button on your remote, and go to channel 805.
I urge any fans of video games here to check them out.
Also, their review of FRwL was that it was deeply flawed, and not really worth a purchase, but maybe a rental, depending on your reaction to Goldeneye (The EA version) and their previous Bond games.
Hope that helps.

Cheers you lot! I suppose the best thing about the Original N64 game was the great multiplayer, quite a leap forward at the time, as I remember. Oh, the lost nights we spent supping Stella, eating pizza and playing "Get Coltrane." Think I'll give this a try, if only to try and recapture those wasted evenings of 1997. Can always swap it for the cool Hulk game if it's awful...

My second best game! And sometimes the first! If they wanted money they should somehow get Rare to re-releace Goldeneye in glorious XBox 360 (etc) graphics and add some more things. That would defiantly, 100% give them a huge inflow of the bazzungas!

I heard Goldeneye (the original) is coming to the DS next year. 'Rogue Agent' is out already for it, and other N64 games have been released on the DS. I'll be watching with interest.

I had loads of fun with Goldeneye when I was young!
It was loads of fun!
Sadly, in my eyes, there is no other shoot em-up as good as this yet...
Perfect Dark was good but it still wasn't the same...

Gamespot - That's a decent place. You get reviews from the 'professionals' in addition to user reviews.
