COOL! When I bought the game in 1998 I was sending the progress of the war via SMS to a friend of mine who also likes TWOTW! Talking about obsessed ;D ;D
I've finished the game on both the human and martian side so often that it isn't nice to play it anymore. To give the game some exitement, I usually blow up all my troops, the northern terratorys and all my weopons factories except for one when playing the Human side. So I have to start building sapper lorrys and construction vehicles first of all.
For those interested, I have some very good tactics for this game. Let me know if you're interested.

Though the game is hard, I found it hard to loose. I'm not sure if anyone has seen these, but try losing the game by blowing up all your units...there's two "game over" video clips with unique audio...though the video files themselves are just the reversed Martian win/Human win endings...where the Martian win is the Human lose and so forth.

Try blowing up the houses of parliament in the human mode / martian base in the grampians in martian mode. View the lose clips then reload the game again.
Kind of a cheat. Doesn't serve any purpose what so ever, but its BLOODY GOOD FUN anyhoo. ;D ;D

Back in the day when this game was released my PC wasn't powerful enough to run it. Then when I went out and got it upgraded I could no longer find it in the stores. A real pity cos it looked cool. I've played the Playstation JW game which was crappy but suprisingly addictive.

i found the human campaign a lot easier for some reason. it could be because of the numbers of human units im not sure though. i always start really badly when i play the martian campaign, i lose a few sectors and my units always take a battering.

[glow=red,2,300]When I first played the human campain I had trouble getting a front line established that could hold off the martians.. that and was very unimpressed with suicidal ironclads beaching themselves when while I played the Martians ironclads had a tendancy to hang back and attack from maximum range. As the Martians I once had to destroy a built-up sector when a mass of ironclads anihilated my martians and all the defence structures within range then held back away from anything that could get to them.. I was a most unhappy little overlord! [/glow]

i have that same problem to sometimes. on a few occasions a dam ironclad has destroyed all my combat units, its usually in a sector i have built up well and is so well defended land based vehicles cant get anywhere near it, but because of the dam ironclad i have to blow it all up!!!

The game sounds fun, i'll have to get it off Ebay.
So do you have to capture a county at a time or something? I've wondered what it would be like to fight the Martians in Wales somewhere lol.

Pretty much. Your ultimate goal is to destroy either the Human or Martian main base.. depending on which side you play, obviously. This involves basicaly working your way up (or down) the country taking counties (or sectors to be more precise. The sectors are more based around well known areas than counties.. ie.. Liverpool, the Grampians and so on) as you go. If there's an enemy base in the way then you have to fight them for the sector. It's non linear though, so you can do them in any order you like. I posted some reviews recently which might give you a general idea what it's all about.. robk.proboards13.com/index.cgi?board=games&action=display&thread=1113253350

I never played the PC game and probably will never find it, anyways, it said in a review on the net the martian campaign explains y those dirtbags try to steal our precious earth (OURS! AND STAY OUT!) I was wondering if anyone would care to explain.

Same reason why it's always been in the story.. Mars dying etc. There is a cutscene at the beginning of the Martian game where the Martian council have a meeting and so on. Perhaps the person writing that didn't know the story and it was all a big surprise or something..
