One day, Hines spots a high profile movie producer, and invites him into his home where it is safe. He then tells him of his plans of building a whole new film- 'We'll build cities and transport, and make a whole new world for ourselves' he tells the producer. 'We'll get able bodied actors- good ones too. We'll sign up Mel Gibson and Kate Winslet.' 'We'll build sets like real streets and buildings from the 1800's, and we'll have effects to rival The Matrix!' (had to get that one in) 'See, this is what I have done so far.' Hines took him into another room to show the producer his Grandads army outfits, his next door neighbours wearing old suits and dresses, a camcorder, and an Amiga computer. It is here where the producer realised the difference between his dreams and his powers, and promptly buggered off. This is the reason why Hines couldn't bring himself to film the scene of the artillery man sharing his dreams with the narrator- it brought back too many harsh memories. Sorry Hines, but this is the impression I have with your film. Your dreams were far bigger than your powers. It's a shame.

Judging by his ego to talent ratio and the bullnuts factor, he does bear an uncanny resemblance to the spoof channel 4 horror writer/producer Garth Marenghi with his War of the Worlds bearing all the elements of Dark Place.
