Personally I imagined the Narrator a bit older, like 40 or even 50, but I agree with many of you that Piana was a good choice. But I've not yet seen the movie.

Does anybody have a point here or is this a pointless 'let's slag off Piana' thread? With the same old jokes trotted out over and over. I haven't seen the film yet but I understand, from people who actually have something to say about this, he was one of the better things about the whole movie.

Piana was very inconsistant with his acting quality or even his accent, but he's not bad. But I think he would have come off better with better film editing and cinematography.
I did enjoy the one scene (playing the narator's brother) where he's dressing and looking out the window every so often because the martians are coming. This was obvisously a greenscreen shot as unfortunately whoever composited the shot decided the window should be in the middle of the scene (behind him) instead of on a side wall to the left of the scene... very comical!

It's interesting that everyone was misled about this whole thing - including the cast and crew. In regards to the 'Message from the Cast' trailer I don't think Mr. Piana intentionally meant to deceive us with his fake British accent. On the other hand I'd love to know what Timbo's reason was when he asked Mr. Piana to do it (i.e. 'throw yourself into the part' or some BS like that). Whoever posted earlier that he seemed uncomfortable praising the professionalsim of the cast and crew were right. He may as well have had a gun to his head. That trailer was meant to convince the avergae viewer that the cast was English as if it would give the project more weight. I said it before and I'm saying it again - fraud fraud fraud.
As for Piana I genuinely feel sorry for him. He may have commited professional suicide. Poor guy was duped.
