One of the more interesting things about Pendragon's movie is the copyright date. If I remember correctly it says: Copyright Pendragon Pictures MMDCCLVIII
That date is 2758 AD
WTF??!!

It's at the end of the credits. I expected to see MMV or possibly MMIV for the copyright year and was astonished to see it so far in the future! You'd think that 7 centuries from now the technology for special effects would be even more advanced. Ah well, perhaps that will be during a new dark age....

I haven't a clue about these figures but if you go to the following site - www.legionxxiv.org/, it says the year 2758 as ancient Rome.

God, I have to check this when I get home. If true, Hines cannot even get a copyright date right....

Again I haven't seen this film but can anyone on here give a plausible explanation as to why this bizarre copyright date is on there?

I think FallingStar has solved this riddle. It appears that someone at Pendragon has a sense of humor. The current year (according to the Romans) is 2758 A.U.C. which stands for Ab Urbe Condita or "From the founding of the city" (Rome on April 21, 753 BC)) The associate producer is John Gallo. Either Gallo or someone else of Italian descent must be responsible for this date.
As a followup question - will a copyright date given in this way cause any problems should Mr. Hines have the need to enforce his copyright?
