Why are people buying this?
Surley it was apparent that from the first so called 'Theatrical Trailer', that this film was going to be pants.
I know that a lot of folks have a curiosty about it, but damn it Hines is ripping people off here.
I wonder if the poor sods that worked on this film were promised a cut of the boxoffice takings instead of being paid?
The whole thing just seems so underhand.

Hines is "having the last laugh" by ruining his own reputation? Wow, some people are *still* in serious denial here.

I don't think Hines meant to rip anyone off. I think of him more as an Artillery Man type of character. Someone with big dreams which the reality doesn't quite live up to.

You know Nerfy, I tend to agree with you there, that seems the most likely situation.

Was just being polite Fallingstar!
Maybe Hines was thinking that 'oh dear the film is not going to live up to the expectations of those nice people on the WOTWO forums. Ah, i'll keep schtum and maybe a couple of those suckers will buy it and i'll get my fifty quid back'

I know this is a cliche by now, but having seen the film It seems accurate, cliche or no: Hines is a lot like Ed Wood in that he had the desire and the ambition, but not the talent of the ability. BUt Wood at least could get his films into theaters....

The way I see it, Hines as done exactly what he set out to do. He made a movie, that he knew there was a target audience. It might not look brilliant, but people have STILL bought it... so even if it is crap, people are still buying, and hines will be laughing all the way to the bank.

I wonder how much Mr. Hines stands to make from this DVD? Will this project actually turn a profit for him? If anyone out there has enough knowledge of this industry to give us an educated opinion, a lot of us would probably be interested to hear it. Right now, it is hard for me to picture how someone is going to make a lot of money from a DVD that is selling $8-$10 each. Another point: as bad as I believe this film was, my curiosity to see it was so intense that I absolutely do not regret buying it. I have a feeling that most of you in the UK will feel the same way.

I think I look at it basically the same way. Hines is probably only going to see $.75 for each DVD sold after it's all said and done. I really wanted to see a "good" Victorian era War of the Worlds. What I got was an unfinished, sophomoric attempt. But, seeing as how it was less than $10 and I knew going in it wasn't going to be Oscar caliber, I don't regret buying it either. I still wanted to see it. Plus, I only had to work for 16 minutes before taxes to be able to buy it. AND, I can watch it over and over if I want. My ticket to the Speilberg/Cruise "extravaganza" will cost about the same, and I'll only be able to see it once for that price.

Thank you for your detailed analysis Mr Kellogs, Im sure those you refere to will thank you in there own personal way. that's quite ok, i'm more than happy to be abused by the masses. in fact, i might even rise to the occasion. on a slightly more on topic matter, does anyone know much about stop motion photography? hmmm, i'd probably be better of creating this as a new topic.

If Hines is a fan then he should have left it to someone who can, some people love Hendrix but dont spill thier guts publicly trying to earn a few quid off of his back. As Clint Eastwood said "a man's gotta knoww his limitations" or was that Anthony Piana (like Brad Pitt but different)
