I dont know about the DVD you have seen on amazon, although I have seen it myself and also wondered what it was.
But, I do know that you can order the Pendragon DVD (and the Asylum DVD for that matter) from amazon.com. I have already ordered mine. They will ship from the US, although you will have to pay a bit more for the shipping. In my experience the overall cost is still worth it because of the dollar exchange rate.
Then all you need is a DVD player that will play region 1 DVD's. If you bought yours from Tesco or someplace similar then you are screwed. However, if like me you bought yours from a hifi shop then you can get it converted to play all regions.
In any case, do a search on the internet for your model and you MAY find a way of playing regions 1 DVD's by entering some obscure code via the remote. If you have a well known make like Panasonic then you stand a reasonable chance.

This stands a good chance of being a documentary as Amazon.com referes to the DVD as 'HGWells' The Ware Of The Worlds', while Amazon.co.uk who will have the same details does not include the "The" in its description. This same DVD as also been found on the Tesco online website.

"Synopsis Profiles H.G. Wells and considers his renowned work 'War Of The Worlds', which met with controversy when it was first broadcast on the radio. "
According to amazon.co.uk, is the content of the DVD mentioned at the start of this thread.

I can't remember if I opened a seperate account with amazon.com. But in any case its quick to do. I would advise trying your uk account first just in case. Anyway, I have ordered many DVD's from amazon.com without any problems at all.

The amount of 'free' advertising we get for Amazon, WOTWOnline should get a discount

Wal-Mart have had a good old plug as well. We, who do this job for nothing, are always open to showings of gratitude.

[glow=purple,2,300] MikeH: I have the same problem - I use Switch on .co.uk, but you can't link your .co.uk acct to .com - you have to register with one of the small range of credit cards they accept. So I got someone with one of these get in debitCredit cards to order me a copy. Alternatively, you can set up an account with PayPal.co.uk, and link your debit card to that. This will give you the opportunity to purchase at a lot of places abroad. you can order this DVD for £17.99 delivered from MovieTyme using PayPal - but I wouldn't want to spend that much on it! A couple of other online retailers are also selling it, (AllMoviePortal.com and AbsoluteNow.com @ $10.49 + shipping), but I don't know their payment options. [/glow]

Havent you got an ordinary credit card? Thats what I use. Works with no problem.
As for advertising for amazon.com. Well its the only place I have seen the DVD available. I looked on play.com (which is a UK site) but its not there. Also, the service from amazon is second to none. In my opinion they deserve the free advert. Has anyone seen the DVD for sale anywhere else?

[glow=purple,2,300]I refuse to have a credit card - If I can't afford something, I shouldn't be buying it. A debit card suits me as the money comes directly from my account and paid for instantly, rather than paying shedloads of interest on a virtual loan.
As Paramount hold European distribution rights, unless they relax their ruling on distribution (unlikely), we will never see a UK release for this movie. The only way is by import. PlayUSA.com can use your play.com account (which accepts UK debit cards) - unfortunately, Pendragons film isn't listed (yet!).
The only places that the DVD has been seen so far online are: amazon.com movietyme.com allmovieportal.com absolutenow.com[/glow]

Ah well, I got hold of my dad who's in the US at the moment, asked him to try and track me down a copy. Don't hold out much hope for that, but a member of the forum is going to get me one aswell. If I get 2, hopefully I can sell one!

I refuse to have a credit card - If I can't afford something, I shouldn't be buying it. A debit card suits me as the money comes directly from my account and paid for instantly, rather than paying shedloads of interest on a virtual loan. I can see what you are saying and I was exactly the same way and resisted getting a credit card until I started to travel. They are pretty much a necessity then unless you trust places with large security deposits for hotels, rentals etc. Using a debit card online is much more unsafe. A credit card acts like a buffer if something goes wrong. Fraud on a debit card is much more problematical despite what they will have you believe. Even though you may only be responsible for the first £50 or less, if mysterious charges start appearing through fraud etc. then that is liquid money that is not available while you go and dispute. I just don't trust banks in that situation. Credit cards are fine as long as you pay them off each month. If you don't like the idea of a credit card then get a charge card. The only problem with those is that they tend to have annual fees as I guess they have to make money somehow even though of course you'd think they'd be happy with the merchant fees... Another factor with debit cards that has caught people out over here, is when using them for filling up with fuel and certain other places. The companies will place a hold of up to $75 briefly on your card which sometimes lasts days. This is money you cannot use. With a credit card, it's no problem generally as you tend to have a line of 'spare' credit (we don't max them out now do we?) .;D If you treat a credit card as a convenience and not as an expensive revolving loan then they're fine.
