I like the description of the film
"Faithful adaptation of H.G. Wells' classic 1898 novel returns the setting to Victorian England where a band of turn-of-the-century resistance fighters do battle against an invading Martian armada bent on destroying humanity. Anthony Piana, Jack Clay, James Lathrop star. 180 min."

[glow=purple,2,300]I doubt it - but someone correct me if I'm wrong..
Unlike DVD, VHS players in the UK tend to only play PAL format. VHS tapes in the US are recorded in NTSC.
A DVD player can be amended to multi region, and most should cater for both PAL and NTSC (mine's 5 years old and does both). A VHS, on the other hand, cannot be changed - you will need one that can play both formats, or another that plays NTSC format. I think NTSC VHS machines are hard to find in the UK.
Your best bet is to get a cheap DVD player that does the lot if you want to see this one, or use your PCs DVD drive (mines a couple of years old and plays Region 1 no probs).
Your only other option is to wait until someone rips it and offers it on eBay, or it appears on a P2P network for download. [/glow]

I dunno HTT, I though NTSC playback was becoming reasonably common for UK VHS machines now. Just like a lot of TV's can now play different standards. I saw a dirt cheap machine not long ago and it could play NTSC tapes. In fact mine can and it was a relatively inexpensive LG machine with NICAM and all that. Having said that, a few of the major stores would now have us believe that the VHS tape format is all but dead and are phasing them out. When recordable DVD players are as cheap as you can get DVD players now I expect this will come to pass. You will probably find that VHS machines are still available for collectors of movies and such but in specialist shops. A bit like the way vinyl record players have gone.

From what I have been told, of the video recorders you can still purchase in the UK, 90% are NTSC playback.
But WHY have/are they released/releasing the film on video when its more common practice and far better to put it onto DVD.
Sorry, was not thinking then, its PP
