Yep, unless a miracle happens i can't see this movie ever being released, as Johnny Rotten once said... "EVER HAD THE FEELING YOU,VE BEEN CHEATED..." "I BEG YOUR PARDON..."

"EVER HAD THE FEELING YOU,VE BEEN CHEATED..." I guess we'd all be wise not to play monopoly with Mr Hines then

So what's the current status of all things Hines? I've heard nothing since that last report "Late April." Oh...that's brilliant. WOTW Hines-opoly. Obviously the cheapest property would be the Special Effects Department.

Obviously the cheapest property would be the Special Effects Department. Actually I think the cheapest property may well be the Marketing Department as it's obvious no expense was spared in it's upkeep with the emphasis on 'no' of course The general public outside of our forums has absolutely no idea it even exists.

Well I was gratified to see, the last time I did an Internet search for Pendragon+"war of the worlds", that it was mentioned on many websites and blogs. But still, Pendragon's marketing of this film does invite Lewis Carroll-esque comments:
"A publicity campaign unmatched by any theatrically released film!"
"Promotion unequalled by any movie ever released!"
"A new, unique approach to movie marketing and distribution, challenging the long-held beliefs of traditional movie studios!"
"The contrast between typical movie marketing and that for this film is like night and day!"
"The cost of marketing this film cannot be expressed in mere dollars!"
;D

If it's been shot, we should have seen something by now, even if it was just another trailer. I may be wrong, but personally I no longer believe the movie ever was shot, just a few bits and pieces for the trailers he did release. Hmmmmm Maybe the DVD has NO extra footage..... Just all the trailers we've seen and Hines reading from the book with concept art, stills, stock footage and footage from the trailers cut in here and there to illustrate Hines' monologue? That too is as they say "Just a thought" Incidentally, I did not say this at the time because I thought it might sound mean and churlish but when I heard what Anthony Piana said on the trailer I sat up in my seat because having been in showbiz myself I would translate "It is a privilege to work with so many talented people!" as "I just hate working with these amateurs!" Just look at his body language and listen to the tone of his voice. I've seen this kind of thing before.... Actors are so catty and bitchy! Just look at me Zoe

Lol! Glad you brought that up Zoe, I always sensed something wierd in Pianas body language and hesitations in the bit; "er..so...go see the film....and..er..enjoy. Cheers...to you all." I felt that you could cut the insincerity with a knife! I'd love to know what was really going on behind those camera avoiding eyes. No one can tell me he was camera shy! lol. Maybe he was just tired, mmmm.

Actually, I always had my own pet theory on that (having hung around too many theater people).
Piana's body language, to me, suggests: 'I desperately want to do some bit of grandiloquence, but this particular moment seems ill-chosen for the master thespian histrionics. So I'll play cool and aloof instead. Besides, wouldn't Al Pacino play it that way, too?'
I'm reminded of the great line in Mel Brooks's _The Producers_.
'Kill the actors? But they're human!'
Zero replies: 'No they're not! Have you ever eaten with them?'
