Motile ...How true ... but you had a go at me for not posting anything different or positive about PP ...well I have honestly been TRYING to find something to post about ...I simply cannot find anything NEW to inject into this particular topic/forum..simple as that WITHOUT going over old ground and I feel we are pretty fed up of that .....Perhaps the posts will start to dry up , as I personally feel I have nothing further to contribute and I do not want other people saying (with respect) ...STOP REPEATING YOURSELF/POSTS.. Thats probably the reason you (MOTILE) feel that I post the same old replys ...put simply ..I cannot think of anything new to put into this, despite trying to think of something . Sorry peeps

I didnt have a pop at you Tom, hust gave yo another option other than not posting/repeating your self.
I agree with what you just posted, the blame lies with Pendragon I am afraid. They should have given the whole project an injection of fresh interest with new pics or some footage or even a statement.

Maybe this is all a masterplan by one of the film companies to get some sort of a burnout effect amongst the fans.

"Just because Jeff Wells doesnt think its Paul Allen doesnt mean it isnt Paul Allen, he doesnt quote Hines as saying either way." Jeff Wells is directly quoting Hines as saying that Paul Allen is not one of the backers. Hines could be lying, but somehow Paul Allen, who did not get to where he is by being dumb. would get involve in a amateur Operation like Hines has going is a bit more then I care to beleive. Whoever it is, the only thing they will get out of this movie is a nice tax write off.

I wish Hines had been more honest about a few things, or at least more accurate. Perhaps he tried to give away too much.
However I'm still looking forward to this film. Everyones slated him, ripped him to shreds etc but it is still a faithful version of the book. It won't be perfect but as SS has proved the big guys won't even touch the book without big changes being made.
Dissapointed I am but only becuase he offered far more than he could produce. I just hope a DVD becomes available here(UK). I will get it.

I'm starting to feel like I'm one of "the few, the proud" who prefer a "glass-half-full" approach.

The problem is that for me being faithful to the book and doing justice to the book are two different things. It could be a faithful adaptation but still do the book a diservice if it is a bad film. It does not matter how faithful to the novel it is, if it is badly acted and badly directed it is doing a disservice to Wells and the novel. Good intentions don't cut it. They are what the road to hell is paved with. I will still see it, or buy the DVD, but I have to admit my expectations are low at the moment. And I am afraid that if this project is a fininacial fiasco, it will mess things up for any future live action adaptation..

I think you are spot on there, the question will be asked "if this little indie low budget flick didnt make its money back, how are we going to make back our $100 million?"
