@charles
Looks like the storm is brewing!!
Can you shed any light on what is happening. Can you contact Tim and get him to: a) UPDATE THE WEBSITE b) Confirm how the film is to be released c) Give us something concrete to go on
At the moment, there seems to be a lot of bad feeling following Tim's "interview", and we need reassurance. You had confidence, can you still say that is the case?
Pretty please, with sugar on top of a big fat jam donut with extra cream. And chocolate sprinkles.

Its ‘crunch time’ at Pendragon currently, but I expect an update in the next week. Hang in there.

You're welcome; its my pleasure. None of us are blind to what's been going on - despite the feeble attempts made to paint us as such. Of course its you guys that deserve the credit for being patient and realizing there isn't a lot we here in the hinterlands can do about any film. It can't be easy being a small operation like Pendragon with a (sometimes) viciously fickle fanbase ready to pounce if their subjective personal opinions or ideas causes them to lose their cool over some aspect. Hang in there. We're all going to find out what's going on at the same time. And life will go on in any case. But I know at least you guys knew that already! Cheers.

Yes, Charles, I appreciate your efforts too..... Crossing my fingers with you all! For the record, I only recently heard some vague rumour that 'Pendragon Pictures was producing a period version of The War of the Worlds directed by Steven Spielberg and starring Tom Cruise..... Curious to find out more (as I had fond memories of HG Wells' fiction and of being scared out of my wits by the movie when it was revived during the 70s) I did a Google search and found that the rumour was well and truly garbled and that there were two competing films..... only the Pendragon one was not really selling itself very hard. When I found this site I was even more bemused to see that Pendragon were not involving you guys in the marketing. Having seen the way Hexan Films went about it (see www.blairwitch.com/ ) I was surprised that Pendragon weren't using everything the net had to offer. Come on, guys, is that Pendragon site a mess or what? Oh well! I have to be honest...... If anyone told me "I'm thinking of making a film of "The War of the Worlds" that closely follows the book I would have said "That's great! I look forward to seeing it ." But I wouldn't have held my breath The best definition of 'sportsmanship' I've ever heard is -"Win as though you're used to it, lose as if you enjoy it for a change". OR; if you're a woman - "lose as though you're used to it, win as though you enjoy it for a change". So I hope you guys can all be sportsmen and if the film comes out you all can just take it in your stride and I'll be pleasantly surprised...... If it goes pearshaped..... Well, don't be mean to me if I say "I thought it would!" Zoe

I am betting the big announcement will be that the release of the film has been postponed followed by another bunch of promises.
