If anybody at this point thinks that the film is going to get a wide release on March 30th, I have some beautiful sea side homes in Nebraska that will interest you.... ;D

Well, I had a reply from the MPAA, unfortunatley all they have said is: 'To date we have not classified this film. We give out classification information only after film has been rated, and then give only the rating and the rating reason. Sorry we can't help you further.' It's not that unusual for a film not to have a rating this close to opening. In fact, sometimes TV commercials for upcoming movies say "This film has not yet been rated." But as a practical matter: I don't want to sound like one of the Hines bashers, but if -- please note I said *if* -- the film is not going thru a distributor, but only being done by direct theatre rental, then an MPAA rating is pretty superfluous. There are some newspapers which won't advertise films with no MPAA rating, but as long as Pendragon doesn't try to rent a theatre in a city whose major newspaper has that policy, then it doesn't matter. Even then, it's possible the film might be advertised only in "alternative" newspapers, so perhaps Pendragon doesn't see that as a barrier. If Hines manages to get a distributor (or already has a "stealth" distributor ) , then it will need to be certified.

" In fact, sometimes TV commercials for upcoming movies say "This film has not yet been rated." Yes, but that is when they are advertising a film that will not open for months. Most trailers for a film that is going to open in a few weeks have the ratings.
"or already has a "stealth" distributor" Please, let's get real. Why would he keep the name of a distributor secret when all these rumors are damaging the film with the hardcore fanbase.? Name me one reason why,. Frankly, this site is the only place on the Net I have seen where the Pendragon film is being taken seriously. At all the other major Sci Fi filmsites, the film has become a joke. And even if he does open the film in a few therters it is going to die a quick death. No Promotion, no Advertising, No trailer, no Audience. And it is far to late to launch a decent campaign, even on a indie level, for this film to have a chance on March 3oth.There are not enough hardcore Wells fans out there is support single handed even a four walled presentation, folks.

Is there such a thing as a "stealth distributer", doesnt that kind of go against the idea of a "distributer"...?

Name me one reason why,. Are you trolling? I put a "winky smiley" ( ) after that comment. It meant that comment was not to be taken seriously. [Above comment revised by Lensman to be less argumentative than it was originally.]

Ok I take it there is no such thing as a stealth ditributer, so the only reason there is no attached distributer with 25 days to go is that there isnt one and they are four walling....ok so the question now is what are the reasons why a distributer wont pick up a movie?

Let me pretend for one moment that I think you're not trolling, and really don't know the meaning of the "winky smiley" ( ) which I put after that comment. It meant that comment was not to be taken seriously. There you go with that "your a troll" venom again, its so negative man..... For the record I dont think dudalb is a troll I agree with a lot of what he says as it mostly makes sense.

I can't wait for it to be released. I'm going to be queuing up outside my local Woolworths all night on the 30th March waiting for the bargain bins to be filled. Of course they could always change the release date to the 1st April...... Lucky fellow -- you still have Woolworths! (We have KMart, God help us!)

Dudalb: I apologize also. I shouldn't have been so quick to assume you were deliberately misquoting me.

lets all just calm down and keep all the arguing and name calling directed at Hines for being annoying and not releasing anything ;D No were NOT going to direct any name calling or arguing at Hines, now matter what has happened it is unfair to concentrate all the anger at just one person - others are included. And as I may point out, Hines has released plenty and not 'anything' as you state. You may have put a ( ;D) in there but its easy for others to mis-read what you put. Please keep to the topic at hand, thank you.

Big nose!
Only joking there H_C, I dont think anybody can be bothered to insult Hines anymore, they have lost all interest, which to be honest is very sad (I mean boo hoo sad not the unsulty sad) PP could have saved it all ages ago with almost no effort.
