Now we've all heard that Pendragon has the right to produce "a version" of War of the Worlds, right? Fine. So Pendragon has forged ahead with this authentic version. However, "state of the art' special effects are apparently NOT in the cards (sorry Tim but Hollywood standards surpass a lone MAC and a green screen). Perhaps Paramount doesn't like this little amateur production but legally they can't do much about it. Or can they? I'd suspected months ago that they may opt to buy them out. You know like, "Here's several hundred thousand to cover the duct tape and Vaseline you guys bought. Now go away and we'll never speak of this 'PenBraggin' picture again." Opinions please.

Im willing to bet Paramount have nothing to do with it.
The reasons behind this debacle lie within Pendragon, we may never know the truth.

Interesting, but doesn't really make sense unless Pendragon actually had a chance of going 'up against' the paramount version. Why would Paramount buy out a company when there would be no gain other than to shut down a production that was no threat to them after they gave them permission to make it? If Pendragon had a major release lined up and looked like it may overshadow Paramount maybe, but a small indie film made mostly for a small fanbase (compared to the 'movie market)? Interesting but I wouldn't buy it, unless some evidence for it creeps up.

Paramount and Speilberg does not give a you-know-what about the Pendragon WOTW. People who think this film in any way, shaped, or form is going to hurt the Speilberg film one dollar at the box office need a reality check. This is just another conspriacy theory. "The reasons behind this debacle lie within Pendragon, we may never know the truth" Some of the hard core Pendragon fans seem to want to blame everybody but Pendragon for the fiasco that Hines WOTW seems to be becoming. NTW Motile, the Jeffrey Wells article in the "New Old Article" confirms everything I suspected about Pendragon. Granted that Jeffrey Wells is far from an unimpeachable source for entertainment news, but pretty much think he is on target here.

Agreed, he has the air of a bloke who isnt bying into Hines's bullsh1t, apart from his spooky eye brow and 1950's greesy lover hair do I liked that Jeffrey Wells. According to Hines the effects are as passable as the Matrix. I nearly choked on my corn flakes when I read that nugget. So thats what the Big Ben scene was eh? Bullet time! Bollocks time more like...
