After all the 'constructive critisicm' Tim Hines has had on these forums, the two up and coming trailers are going to be very interesting. Your comment made me snarf. Very funny.

from what we've heard from inside sources, the Hines camp is watching these boards and taking our critiques to heart. it will be interesting to see what, if any, advice he has taken.

Yes, he has. And I'm also pretty sure Mr. Hines and/or his associates keep an eye on these boards.

That would be logical, through the joy of the internet we the little people now have a means of actualy communicating with the untouchables like directors, although the conversation is a little one sided.

"The lack of information is killer, although I fall firmly into the camp that says the level of info we've gotten so far is 'normal', as we would from any other film. "
Not Five weeks before it's release..... They don't have enough time to effectively advertise and market the film.

It's all very frustrating ,if not depressing. I sincerely hope the movie meets our expectations. I for one will be going to see the movie ...whatever the standard of special EFX.

Good or bad I sincerely hope we get the chance to see it.
Im looking forward to the little things like spotting the shopkeepers son at the pit with a barrel of ginger beer and some apples or the party people on their way home playing music and dancing, its Mr. Hines (alleged) attention to detail that I am looking forward too.

All the live action shots from the teasers and the trailer look pretty impressive to me, and seem to set the right atmosphere. Oh! And don't let my remarke yet again trigger some remarks about the acting, since the snippets are too short to really tell.

Mr. Hines commented on that bit in one of his messages which Charles shared with us. I have archived those messages on my homepage. You can read said message here. -Gnorn

Ahh now you see? Thats absolutley fine, I accept that without question just because he acknowledged the error, I take the other stuff with a pinch of salt though as Hines is known for blowing his own trumpet. (state of the art SFX.....?)
I am left wondering, out of 90 hours of footage (90 hours, isnt that a lot a footage for a couple of hours of film, even with 10 takes for each minute its still only 30 hours...?) why did they choose the bits with the bad acting with scenes that have no tension what so ever, like the wheazing Ogilvy scene when they had so much to choose from, unless it was all bad acting?

Beats me, Motile, why of how he choose those scenes. But as a whole, I think they still look impressive. But that's me.
Hope the new trailers will be out at the end of the month.
