"exsanguination" ? I was about to accuse you of making that word up, when I finally found it - In a 1940 Webster's Encycolopedic! ;D

it doesn't surprise me that liberties have been taken with the special effects scenes. so what? you have to expect that, as long as they don't stray from the story... add a new character like beth, or combine the narrator and his brother into one character, or turn the tripods into flying saucers, then why worry about it? it is my opinion that the scene with the woman getting zapped is the view from underneat the house. so wells didn't describe that happening EXACTLY like that... he did say that the curate saw something that really freaked him out, but it didn't say what. what if what we're seeing is what the curate saw? its not a big deal really. it can be explained as still being faithful to the book, unless you just WANT to nitpick it to death As I posted earlier there is nothing wrong with adding cinematic scenes that improve the narative or give better eye candy as long as its done well, but they are not. The trouble as far as I can see is that the scenes with no FX look totaly different to the scenes with FX, this will make the narative seem disjointed.

Has anybody ever seen a film and then read the book or vice versa ... never match do they. Some things are changed, cut, altered. as people keep pointing out it is to get bums on seats , now as alot of imagination has to be used reading the WOTW as (MOTILE) there are no pictures for you to look at. Vague descriptions etc How could you portray what the curate saw on screen without putting that scene in for the audience , ok it may be a woman, but perhap the audience is not ready for a kid to be killed/tortured or whatever, but along as the scene is there who gives a damn..YOU OBVIOUSLY. a book cannot be simply transposed word for word /scene by scene to the big screen simply because of people interpritation of the book and financial constraints.

Lord of the Rings is a good example of that. Theres s**t loads of stuff not in the film and tonnes loads of stuff not in the books. This is also a good example where change has been done for the better.

If thats from PP would I be right in thinking its a stop motion puppet? most likely you would be wrong, i think that we can all pretty much agree that pendragon won't be using stop motion unless its on the really BIG 9 foot models... otherwise they'll most likely be using cg... but isn't it fun to bash em anyway? personally, after realizing that the model is so small, i would say that its just a pre-viz model, not meant to be filmed.

It most likely is that, actually. A concept model for the cgi artists and puppet designers to use as their guideline when creating the finished product; also known as a "maquette". Such things where used regularly during the creation of the original Star Wars Trilogy, specifically for Jabba The Hut himself in his early design phases. But I also think that version of the martian is from the original aborted version of Pendragon's film.

You really do have somekind of a screw loose dont you? You cant help but take fault and attack, attack, attack, anything and everything in sight dont you. Yes motile may have his doubts as do i, but by and large even us 'pessimists' have become more laid back about things recently. Yet you continue to dig, poke, prod, annoy, and generally wind up in attempts to provoke a reaction, i can only think that you live up to your nickname mate. Stop poking prodding provoking being an idiot and allow people to have differences of opinion. OK?

OK? funny that you're actually doing to me, by posting that, what you're accusing me of doing. i'm an idiot? ok... making fun of my nick? fine... i've a screw loose? whatever... you've already managed to attempt to insult me personally 3 times in that one post. good for you, you're really making a good example out of yourself go back and point out any remark that i made that was a personal insult, and that wasn't related to WOTW, or the bashing or supporting of anything related to it. now sit back and catch your breath because you're really overreacting here. you and motile both

Malf, you like others have spent a lot of posting time telling me to stop being negative about PP, in order to stop the non stop crap being thrown in my direction I agreed to be neutral. I spotted somthing of interest and asked a question in a post, too me that model looks like a stop motion puppet, these days stop motion is done digitaly and the sperate images are 'morphed' into one fluid motion, gone are the days of cheesy stop motion dinosaurs, ahh the magic of computers.
But it wasnt good enough malf was it, either way im getting crap thrown in my direction.
Thanks for that.
as for Rusti, he was sticking up for me against idiotic posts that were put up to be vindictive, so thanks for that Rusti, but you know what, who cares right?
