So, Rusti S, are you no longer hostile towards the movie? I want my hometown to capitalize on the attention it will recieve over the next few years with all whats going on. But truth is it seems that no one in the local council is even aware of what is going on let alone do anything about it, combined with my grave misgivings over the PP film i just feel frustrated that im surrounded by monkeys that are wasting a once in a lifetime chance.

It's totally ridiculous I agree but then again Pendragon aren't exactly doing a good job of making themselves known outside of the W.O.T.WORLDS fanbase. If by a long shot Pendragon start surprising us over the next few weeks. Why don't you try and kick up a bit of a fuss by contacting the local Woking papers, council and as many relevant people as possible etc. You never know this might work.

RustiSwordz/Chares
Has there been any further news on this?
Will Woking be included as one of the 5 cinema releases, will it be ignored, or will it be used as a 'premier'?
I would assume that the Wells society will be offered a private screening at least, and would've thought that would be in either London or Woking.

"Will Woking be included as one of the 5 cinema releases, will it be ignored, or will it be used as a 'premier'?" The interview with Jeffrey Welles clearly states that the Five theaters in the limited will all be in large cities in the US...and he lists the cities. Read more carefully, guy. I think you are beginning to clutch at straws. Opening in Woking is a good PR idea, but no good if don't follow through at it. I am beginning to wonder if there is not a legal copyright issue with the film's being shown in the UK,since opening it in the UK is a no brainer from a publciity standpoint. As to the HG Wells society, If I were them I would think long and hard before I would associtate myself with this film, the way it seems to be turning out.

how can i best describe Woking.
The council's attitude towards Woking is like having an Aston Martin DB7 Vantage sports car, boasting about the car even letting people hire/use the car without cleaning it, servicing it or looking after it so the car looks like a motorised turd, yet you still insit that its in full working order and charging the earth for its use...

I just have, and he doesn't state that at all:
Nothing definate in that article. It's claimed only 5 theatres will acreen it, (so Jeff was told) there was no distributor, apparently ". Pendragon, in the same article, say this isn't true. And, if it isn't true, then there may be a distributor, which means possible worldwide release, which means potentially a showing in Woking.
The Wells Society wouldn't concern themselves with being associated with the film - they are hardly going to be affected by the movie (apart from new members getting into the novel). I just assumed as a courtesy, that as they have been consulted on the technical aspects, then they would be entitled to preview it in Woking - to give it their seal of approval, so to speak.

WHY isn't Pendragon putting an end to all this speculation - we know they have forum agents in disguise working amongst us - SO why won't they put it right ?
Simple - they can't!!!! there is NO FIX to reveal!!!
They have nothing - no finished flick - nothing - just rumours to keep the embers going a little longer before the DVD release hits ebay..

Living not far from Woking, I'd have to agree that it's kind of sh**ty. However, there are usually some hot chicks at the station whenever I have to take a train from there, so it's not a total loss...
