Going back over what we have seen from the tour and this Martian: Will either be used in the movie? Or is the Martian for the movie still on the planning board? Personally I wouldn't mind either myself.

The above one but with more rounded eyes.
And before anyone asks, nope, the martian isnt green, its inside the cylinder and its the interior colour's reflecting off the martians body.

Is that information from the top Horsell? I must admit - the designers must have a hard time making the aliens faithful to the book - and at the same time not making them look too B movie-ish.

From what I have been told, the final Martian design hasn't been decided. And that is from the top.

I can't remember if this has been discussed before but I wonder what H.R. Gigers take on a Martian would be like. And tripods too!

Any news regarding which Martian design has been chosen yet? And if they still undecided are they open to submissions? I have one that's perfect!! I've resisted posting it since I joined, my ego thinking it might invalidate any future use.

Well, if you want it passed on to JW and Co, I can maybe do that. Can't promise they will use it though, obviously. It's unlikely (I'm told) that there will be much news at all about the movie for some time yet, anyway.

Sweet, I'll dig out my sketch books and do a few scans. I wrote on spec when the film was first announced but never seemed to get passed Jeff's PA. I'm not expecting them to leap on it, they obviously have their own vision of what they should look like, but still, nothing ventured...

Ok, they don't accept unsolicited stuff but you are welcome to email them to me and I'll see what I can do.

when i read the book/ heard the record first time i always imagined the martians should look like something you could never possibly shake hands (or tenticles etc) with. That first concept pic is just a bit friendly (bet you dont want to meet my friends lol)
