As for hearing new music - no eyed deer.

Hi.
Not sure if any of you other guys made it yesterday to the Jeff Wayne seminar.
I went along with a friend of mine. I personally thought it was a wonderful, intriguing afternoon. Jeff was extremely affable and forth coming regarding his work and background. He gave us a 5 minute soundbite of the new 5.1 version of WOTW, which he stated was 70% finished and was actually only a soundbite he had prepared a while ago for the record company. It sounded brilliant. People were sat listening with their eyes closed, whilst I just sat with a big grin on my face. It received a well deserved round of applause afterwards.
There was a question and answer time at the end, but unfortunatley, I didn't pluck up the courage to ask him my question about who else he had had in mind to participate on the original recording if his first choice of people had said no.
However, I was interviewed by a guy afterwards who works for the uni and he said if I didn't mind that he would ask Jeff himself, for an article they are doing. The Yorkshire Evening Post were also present so I shall be trotting down to the shop later.
Jeff also said he would be happy to sign some stuff, if people wanted him to. Thankfully I had brought my vinlyl copy with me, as well as a cd cover for a friend who couldnt make it. I also thanked Jeff for all of the "wonderful nightmares" he had given me as a child, to which he chuckled and said "No problem".
So, all in all, a brilliant experience and something I shall remember and treasure.
Hope everyone is keeping well out there on this fine Friday morning.
