Not many have seen this footage but sadly due to legal reasons it can't be viewed, but the new site www.thewaroftheworlds.com in the 'Features' section has a 10 minute 'History' tour of the album which shows a few scenes from the BLUE MONKEY footage. As we can't show the footage, here is a brief rundown of what is seen. This is the FULL sequence and not the short one seen on the site. It starts with the Richard Burton narration, moving on to show the cylinders falling towards the Earth, Fighting Machines rising from the pit on Horsell Common, people fleeing as 2 machines come into view - one releasing its Heat Ray and blowing up a building, Handling Machines walking up street and over buildings, Fighting Machine foot crashing through building, Fighting Machine rising up out of the sea behind Thunder Child, guns going off in wreckage, Fighting Machines at night with steam and light guns, Thunder Child heaving about in the sea as Fighting Machine stands behind her, Man runs as Heat Ray hits Thunder Childs decks, wrecked building reveals Fighting Machine looming above it to then hit YOU with the Heat Ray, flash of light to reveal TWOTW logoand thats about it. It is indeed a pity we can't show this but at least everyone can now catch a glimpse of it over on Jeff's site. Horsell, you forgot to mention the poignant image that finishes the thing.. The discarded teddy bear in the puddle.

I didn't notice it the first time, but when watching the clips from the animated movie, you see a handling machine climbing along the wall... and boy are those things fast.

Yeah that's pretty cool. I hope they do something like it in the proper CGI movie.. as you probably know, the Blue Monkey footage isn't from the movie... It's something that was put together a couple of years back.

Thats correct . . . It was something put together as an idea of what could be done and how it could appear in animation style. All good fun though and a very interesting piece of footage.

[glow=purple,2,300]Is the team behind BlueMonkey the team now working on the movie?
I hope they do use some of those ideas in the movie - the FM rising out of the water is just brilliant. I also think it will be much scarier if we know HMs can scuttle up walls - I always imagined them at ground level only, and presumed if you were up high you could escape them. The fact that they could slip up to your first floor window and whisk you off whilst you're in your morphean slumbers means there's no hiding place![/glow]

I can't really comment at such an early stage to 'who' is doing the CGI work for the movie. The idea of the HMs walking up the side of buildings is just excellent and I hope they do incorporate it into the movie as the machines have grabbing claws on the feet you can easily imagine them doing this.

Is the footage near the end this Blue Monkey or bits from this new film? Whichever, it looks brilliant!
I can't wait for this film! But I'm sure I don't have to tell Jeff not to rush anything!

There is some Blue Monkey footage in there, Krys, but as we've said before, this isn't from the movie. The movie CGI should be even better...

Even better! My jaw has just hit the floor! So let me get this straight, Blue Monkey stuff: CGI clips, can't be shown. Old advert type thing for JWMVOTWOTW with painting effect to promote the album which can not be shown... I just can't wait for the new advert around June!

Just seen the footage, apart from the low quality, it was pretty astounding stuff. Think Wayne didnt reckon this would happen when he made the musical 25 years ago.

hi guys! I've been off the internet for nearly a month due to problems with my computer, I've just been watching that footage and apart from it being brilliant to see these machines in action, that looks like a sort of forerunner for a 27 years of the album documentary, also I've had a look at the handling machine on here, and as a scale model builder PLEASE let there be kits of these machines

[glow=green,2,300] I haven't had a chance to see it online yet, but by the sounds of it, it is the same footage which is used on the documentery dvd in the new collectors edition boxset?

There are a few clips of the Blue Monkey stuff on the DVD, yes. Some of the stuff is new though or from the PC game cutscenes.
