The film will stay true to the HG Wells' novel, being set in Victorian England and will of course make good use of Jeff's music!

I did like the Phantom's main overture and the main song! I have a kareoke version of the second! ;D
Yes they should stay true to the music, no remixes like ULLADUBULLA, although I do like what I've heard sort of, but I'm still woundering if it will be say the album non stop with visual or stopping in between for dialogue etc...

I think Horsell said that the movie will follow the story and use the music from the album. Sounds like the music will be used more as a soundtrack for the film rather than making the movie a bollywood style tripod stomping dance fest. We've discussed this before several times but I think it would look good if the songs come in with visual set pieces in the appropriate times in the story (ie. 'Forever Autumn': the Narrator and Carrie walking through a forest, falling leaves and so on). The exceptions to this *might* be 'The Spirit of Man'.. which is a direct duet between two of the characters and 'Brave New world' which is the Artillery Man's spoken (or, in this case, sung) manifesto. It will be interesting to see how they make this work.

[glow=purple,2,300]...or the now legendary 'Shock Treatment'
Incidentally, anyone know what happened to the third Rocky Horror musical? Richard O'Brien kept saying he was working on it, but i've not heard anything for a long time now. [/glow]

The script to the film has been completed a long time ago. I am very sure that Jeff said he will be orchestrating the score for the film. Just turn the lyrics 'back' into narration/lines instead of songs. Of all the songs on the album, the only one I can see that will feature as a propper song will be 'Forever Autumn'.

If you think about it, why would any lyrics or narration be needed, other than in parts where visuals are not present. The idea of the film is to see the album artwork come to life, visuals created onscreen for us to see rather than the listen to from Richard Burtons narration. It would be pointless if you hear the narration go 'Quickly, one after the other, four of the fighting machines appeared. Monstorous tripods, higher than the tallest steaple, striding over the pine tree's and smashing them. Walking engines of glittering metal. Each carried a huge funnel and I realised with horror that I had seen this aweful thing before' to then see it at the same time on screen - it would be like stating the obvious.

I'm sorry, but I just listened to the intro for the first time at the official site and...
disco music? I'm trying to convince myself that wasn't disco music.

There was a disco remix done back in late 1979 and released as a 12" record. It also came with the limited edtion boxset that was released in 1979 - Remixed "Disco Version" by Steve Thompson.

I want to see hundreds of people lined up at the docks, the ferry pulling away, and they all start signing and doing a dance routine...
"There were ships of shapes............................... scattered out along the bay"
And they all wave their hands across the horizon while looking awestruck...
-RME- Thats a poorly thought out joke btw.

pole dancing around big ben....fancy tripod dancing. Tears in my eyes. Classic stuff. I think that when the martian comes out of the cylinder it starts body popping to the music of "Electric boogy" and challenges Ogivy to a breakdance competition and throws out some cardboard. Ogilvy wins and they get the heatray out.....

A Martians need to sound like Crazy Frog, then we will really hate the little squids.
Also the Martians could like, Mexican Wave with their tenticles. Set the Tripod searchlights to "Disco" and play the ruined house scene as a party to Electric 6's Gay Bar.
God, I hate that song. Child of Rock 'n' Roll that I am.
