The second link that Ashe gave works just fine over here It is a very impressive film, I've seen it a few years back. I believe she altered a video clip with airplanes bombing the city. Johan

That's an amazing short clip. I would love to see a feature length version of that! Simply stunning.

I couldn't get it to do anyting either. However, a bit of googling found this: www3.telus.net/adeblois/2002%20reel%20samples/Click on the 1.1Mb file, it's the WOTW clip! I presume it's the same having not been able to view it using the other links posted earlier. Either way, it's bloody impressive! BTW, I also uncovered this, a forum post by the (very talented!) girl who made the clip ( vfxtalk.com/forum/showthread.php?s=3d6ff49ab39c9fe8466c6b38ee438e95&t=2304&page=2&pp=15): June 13th, 2004, 12:21 PM Andromeda Girl re:wotw film --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
funny you should mention that.
in the summer of 2001 i was hired to work on an independantly financed wotw remake. i t was cancelled immediately following 9/11 and so, after a good long while in therapy, i made that reel because i had wanted to work on wotw so much.
i don't see it as patriotic, but i suppose it could be seen as such, if i was british anyways.
i agree with your comment on loving the work, i think my stuff demonstrates this fact very well. but not just my own stuff but any vfx work. i wanted to do this since i was a child! of course back then, it was all models and optical fx work but the feeling and desire was the same. like most young persons with such dreams, i began making my own super 8 films, trying to add fx work all i could, whatever could be done without an optical printer.
i only hope that if they do remake wotw it will be a true and faithful 19th century setting. i doubt the martian war machines will look anything at all like they are described in the book. i'll be pleasantly surprised if they do. i think i'll still end up depressed if it gets made, because the chances of me getting hired on a big budget dreamworks film is remote. i'd love to get on that production. George pal's wotw was the film that inspired me to do film fx, along with harryhausen of course.Note the bits I emphasised in bold... Sounds like a great lass!

Oh wow, you found it with sound I'm glad her talent wasn't wasted on "that" film, but I hope she gets to achieve that dream she always wanted
