I've created some sences for a project I always wanted to work on based on a doctor who story the crosses over with War of the Worlds. I'm currently putting some animation work together to show off. It'll probebly never see the light of day, but at least I can share with you when I got some fun scenes done.
Anyway premise is thie
"The Doctor and his companion land on an alternative Earth in 1989. It is a gothic world, but with highly advanced technolgy centuries byond it's time. The cities are sentinaled by tripodic warmachines and the world is ruled by the Great Brithish Empire. The emperor is kept alive by means of an infusion of alien grafting and technolgy and has rules since the Amrtian invasion 100 years ago. Now the Empire is determined to conquer the dying world of Mars. The martians on deatsh door in no position to stop them. But the Doctor see's something far more dreadful in the pattern of events. A history he has seen before in his own universe repeating itelf on a different stage, and this time he intends to do something about the upcoming nightmare before it begins, even if it means defying the Human Empire itself.
Question is, what has he seen in the pattern? What is he trying to stop? And why would he threaten humanity to stop it?
somce scens to see soon, hope you liek the idea. Came up with it when I was a kid, seemed appropiate with the new Cybermen episode coming up rto share it now.

Do it. Sounds a great idea - the merging of two classic staples of British SF.

That was my thinking. I also wanted to give the Doctor a real moral nightmare

Dr Who And The War Of The Worlds, this brings back memories as I used to have the late 1970s comics of this featuring the classic Tom Baker.

I have that one, it's actually the Doctor retelling the story as told to him by his friend, Herbert. On that, here's something I rushed up a few minuites ago from a montage of images I thought McGann's doctor had the Wellsian quailty to bring to this particualr story ((Just noticed my post count:666, spooky))

Just a little teaser for the prolgue. A little rough around the edges I'll clean it up. This is merely the first draft "Brave New World: Part 1"
Imperial Guard: "Our specimens have been collected, Sir. They are waiting for you outside"
Tyler: "I hope they're of higher vintage than your last batch leftenant. His majesty's pets did not react well to their last meal."
Imperial Guard: "Yes sir. I made special care this time to round up the best on the menu."
Tyler: "Hmm, we'll soon see. (beat) well lets see them then!"
(They both march to the door and look out. There is a murmur of human voices, whimpers of men women and children as if they don't know what's about to happen)
Imperial Guard "Sympathizers sir. Known Fifth Columnist, traitors to the Imperial order."
Tyler: "You read my list?"
Imperial Guard: "Yes sir. I was surprised as to the level of insurgency coming from within the British Senate sir. I felt it prudent to make an example."
Tyler: "Excellent initiative, Leftenant. His majesty will be pleased."
Senator Philip: "Corporal Tyler, what is the meaning of this? Explain yourself. One moment My family and I are in bed, the next we our home invaded and my family and I arrested. On what charge?"
Tyler: "Senator Philips, you should surely know that even talk of insurgency to the Imperial rule is considered treaso
n enough. You would have been well advised to keep that conspirators tounge silent in the House of Senators."
Senator Philips: "How dare you, I and my family have Been nothing but loyal to the Emperor and the Empire. The Senate exists to question the Emperor, as were his wishes when he set up up a 90 years ago. Has our role changed any since?"
Tyler: "On the contrary, Senator. The Emperor merely wishes to remind the Senate who is in charge. Your role is merely to advise the Emperor, not to dictate policy to him."
Senator Philips: "And what is to become of us?"
Tyler: "A mere demonstration of loyalty to the Empire, nothing more." (beat) "Lieutenant, open the pit."
Imperial Guard: "Yes sir."
(We hear the cranking of gears and pulleys as the the a pit is opened beneath the senator and his family. We also hear from with in the hooting and grunting of a terrible beast from within. The victims and Philips scream in desperations as one by one they are fed upon and we here the sucking sound of blood being drained from the victims)
Tyler: "Bon appetite, Senator."
(Open Titles)

I need a Doctor for the teaser. I'm not sure in any of you are familiar with the Big Finish Audio productions, but I would like a Doctor that sounds roughly similar to Patrick McGann's doctor.
Here ar e a few test lines:
Doctor: (Slightly annoyed at Charlies lack of observation) "A ho...? (beat) A hole in space? Is that all you see?"
______________________________
Doctor: (Checking the instruments with some concern) "All humour and sarcasm aside, Charlie, that hole shouldn't even thortecially exist. And yet, there it is."
_____________________________
Doctor: (digusted) "And so you sold out your fellow man to the Emperor's "Racial Improvement Programme"? And what, pray tell, happens to those who don't mee the grade?
____________________________
Doctor: (Determined) "I once had an opportunity to stop this madness from happening in my universe, I failed. I won't make the same mistake here>"

Keep developing the story! Also, I wonder what the Martians think about their tech now being used by Earthmen...
