Start of blatant rip-off
Early one morning, avery very long time ago, Spot the dog woke to a very sunny day. After eating all his breakfast, Spot decided to go for a stroll on his local park named Horsell Common. Many people were there, all age groups, but spot was curious to see a large metal object sticking out of the ground. Suddenly the top began to move and Spot ran off to hide nehind a big tree. With a big clink, the lid fell off and spot stood amazed as a big metal machine with 3 legs emerged from within. Spot ran back home to tell all his friends that the aliens had arrived. Spots friends decided to go to Horsell Common and for fun, squirt water with there toy water guns at the aliens. Sadly this had a big effect on the aliens as the cold water gave them a cold and the aliens do not like the cold. Spot and all his friends laughed and the world was saved . . . Good old Spot.
End of blatant rip-off

What we will find?
We were under, in the metro of Montreal, for 24 days now. I had to go out with Charles to see what's left of our City.
We came here, as fast as we can, not thinking, no feelings of anything but fear, we where running for our lives. Myself and many peoples went in the metro, (comuter train ender earth). As soon as we arrived downstair, we with the help of the workers, when in the tunnel, with flaslights. We where not that much peoples, The tripods had time to kill a lot of people, we new we would find other survivors in other metro stations. This was the best place, we found, there was water, we had the convenient store at every metro station. and also restaurants and food store, all under the city. So we could take at least the dry food, and canned food. chocolate bars and more.
The first 17 days, we heard a lot of noise of destruction. I was horrified about the Idea of death and destruction of My city. This was the worst think I ever saw in my life. There was firers everywhere, destructions, lots of death. Now the noise was unberable. After 17 days, The sound almost stopped at once. We we heard their Tripod call, and then nothing. after 3 days of earing nothing, different noise took place. More familiar noises, After the 7th day after the tripods calls, we decide to come out of Hiding. I and Charles went alone first. What we saw was Destruction. the noise we heard was coming from the soldiers and their equipment, that where there to try to save lives from the rubbles. They did'nt come to us first because they knew we were better of then the peoples outside, especially the one injured and in the rubbles. We where really relieved to see other humains. But the destruction, was more than we could take. the city was no more, some builings were barely standing, dammage by Tripods that that had falled on them. Bridges were gone. no more trees, no more of nothing. There was still fire burning, I live in montreal since 35 years, and I was not able to put the puzzle back, Montreal was no more, and 3/4 of the peoples where dead.
There could be more if you want wotw fans. Chantale. and I know there are grammar and spell mistake. sorry.

Righty then, Ive been writing away for most of today and have come up with a little fanfic Its set at the time of the first cylinder landing in fairly close proximity to the "action". Diary 1901 Monday June 3rdIf I do nothing else, I’ll slap that lad, giving me lip and not getting on with his work. I should kick him out but without all three of us bringing home we would never survive. I spoke to Mrs Townsend, its fine to do her lawn on Thursday, my back is still hurting but if Mr Townsend is absent then I can work at my own speed without him fussing. She spoke of something about a light in the sky the other day, bright and close were the words I think she used. She knows an astronomer from round here, maybe talk and wine have made her imagination overly active. I hope these hard times leave us soon, I see rich people basking in the luxuries that money can give, and a little of that money to my family for giving some luxury. I am just happy we have favour and friends or I fear we would have nothing. Tuesday June 4thI may have to take a walk into Weybridge market, I am running short of candles and this cellar isn’t getting any brighter. I cant grumble though, I know David and Angela that live in the house above understand our situation, having been on the lower end of the social ladder themselves not so long ago. I have enough for four candles, but might have to walk in again on Thursday. People around here seem to be in a panic, this light Mrs Townsend spoke of may be less mystery and myth than I has first thought, but I cannot say I have seen this light myself. I hope my family sees things the way I do, there is no point getting all excited over something in the sky when we need to keep grounded, we need to keep working hard. Wednesday June 5thSomething strange broke the silence this morning, it sounded like 100 cannons going off at once, I heard people shouting something about Horsell Common and lots of commotion followed. My back is still hurting and I have a full day of errands for rich people so I shall continue to rest for a while. Such a strange day I have just had. Most of the houses around here are empty, it is fortunate, as I had to take my time working and the occupants would have been unhappy with my unhurried errands. I saw people moving back and forth through the streets all day, not an unusual thing but there was talk of a giant lump of metal hitting Horsell Common throwing sand and dirt all over the place. My family are not here, they went to see the show on the common, I would join them but I must rest. A strange light and now this, I am really beginning to wonder what the world is coming to. These thoughts are unnerving, but I must carry on with my family to earn a living. These events are the fancy of astronomers and scientists, not that of a poor family such as ours, the lapdogs of the rich. Thursday June 6thI am fearful for my family, they have not returned and all I can hear is shots being fired, echoing around this cellar, I fear that this may be making it sound worse than it really is. I dread the thought of going outside and this worry is only highlighting my back pains. In panic I ran outside, asked a soldier walking towards the common what was happening, he said his orders were like the others, to take the place of the fallen. I looked at the floor and shook my head, the soldier continued walking and my eyes followed the back of his feet, looking upward in the direction he was walking appeared to be a wall of flame in the distance, there was the occasional explosion and a mix of shouts and muffled screams. An injured soldier told me, on his way out of the battle that we could only defend at best against the enemy. With fear still on his face he asked if there was somewhere he could go, I pointed towards a house atop Maybury Hill and he walked off quickly. I must look after this cellar for my family, should they return. I hope they do return. Friday June 7thWoke up coughing, there is dust everywhere. I tried opening the hatch to the cellar but it wont open and there is no light coming through the gaps in the boards, I hope nothing has fallen on it. I would have picked up some more food if I thought it safe to travel to Weybridge yesterday. I have a little bread and cheese left, that will have to satisfy until I can find a way out of here. I wonder if my family have any clue that I am stuck down here. Saturday June 8thSomething turned this cellar into an oven. It was about mid morning and I could hear, what sounded like the gale force winds blowing through the trees, and all I could feel was a searing heat filling my home. I thought maybe if I pressed myself against the cold brick wall I could stay cool, but it was from the walls and the ceiling that the heat was penetrating the room. I find myself asking, is this invading force trying to force me out, or keep me here. I must have passed out for several hours, the cellar is cool again now, but I need to rest. Two days worth of food left. Sunday June 9thStrange sounds are all around me, like heavy feet walking and I can hear what seem to be hooting sounds. At one point, in the distance there were several loud siren sounds, one followed by several others shortly after. I am becoming increasingly tense, this all seems very unearthly and there is nowhere I can escape to. I keep imagining a lush field, to lie down in, bathing under the sun. Instead I shall have to settle for this damp and grimy cellar that I call home. Monday June 10thI have found that the cellar door can be opened again, I took a peep outside and saw very strange machines moving about. I cannot be certain, but I think one may have noticed me, but it was over an hour ago and I am starting to relax a little again. These strange sounds are still everywhere and I am starting to get used to them now. I had better stop writing for now, the cellar door is rattling a little and I fear for my safety.

H_C - lol! That's talent there. ;D Chantale - Nice to see a perspective of the invasion from another country. Well done. Keep up the good work. Spirit of Man - I love the lower-middle class perspective on the invasion - it is very interesting; and the story is really gripping. I also like the way that the last entry of the leaves the reader pondering over what happened to the man. Great stuff!
