Looking fantastic, Chris! The fire and lighting elements are very convincing. And the tripod physics and motion look great. I really like the legs on your FMs.
Can't wait for what's next!

Thanks for the kind comments folks. You can now keep up to speed with the developments on this and other productions on our website www.tmofilms.comAs you may, or may not, be aware it is our intention to complete our short film "Lords of the World?" later in the year and release it via our website as free to view. You will also be able to purchase it on DVD from our website for higher quality viewing. We are currently working on the treatment and due to budget restrictions and copyright issues are having to alter the story to suit. Don't be disheartened though, this is going to be an exciting story that you'll want to jump into the screen and be a part of. If you wish to help out with the production then please visit our website and see how you can be involved.

We've been toying with different ideas for the heat ray and feel that this is possibly a good representation. This is simply a rush, but what are your thoughts?

I think you should make the Heat Ray invicible. Maybe with the glittering light emitted from the box, when fired.

Johan Good idea - we did think about making it invisible with a sort of distortion cum heatwave effect where the beam is. It would certainly cut down on the worry of having to illuminate the scene perfectly to reflect the beams light. Any other thoughts?

Yes, a sort of intense heat haze, distorting the background would look good.

Perhaps a heat ray that somehow resembles the optical effect of a mirage? That would look most interesting.

Hehe... the way the light from the heat ray is reflecting in the 'eyes' of the hood make it look surprised. cute. ;D
It would definately be nice to see the heat ray as transparent in some way, if it would be possible to do. It would certainly be interesting to see a heat ray done in that way.
