hey! Im thinking of continuing an idea i had for a college project. Making a black and white stopmotion mini movie using the orson welles broacast as the sound track. doing the whole thing would be hard but i might just do a few scene's. what do you reckon?

That would be interesting.
I have been planning to make a claymation wotw thing soon - I learnt how to use some stop motion programs a little while ago and plan to do this after my A2-level exams and space school in summer for fun.

It looks like its gonna happen!, our media tutor has said he'll help us out with filming it we are going in the recording studio to start on editing the orson welles broad cast and i think adding some backing score ourselves. we are going to add a scene showing london under attack too!. When its done, we'll find a way of getting it on the net as i want it will be made for fans by fans.

[glow=purple,2,300]For some reason, I now see Wallace as the Narrator, with Burk from Trapdoor piloting an FM, with Drutt as a handling machine...
Wallace: "Crikey Gromit, look at that fighting machine! Bet we could build a better one, eh old pal. Got the edge on NASA, eh!l" Burk: "'ere, wots this lever for? Oh globbits, I've just destroyed Big Ben!" Boney: "Oh, burk..." Wallace: "Oh heck! Still, melted the cheese quite nicely! Have to get us one of those heat rays, save you some time making breakfast!";D[/glow]

lol!, i was actualy thinkin more of a tim burton kinda style. part of this whole idea came from watching e.d wood the movie by burton. just wondering, what kind of look for the tripods would people most like to see? we had a few designs that we tested but didnt work.

hey! we've almost done adding the music over the top of the orson welles audio and it works 100 times better than i thought it would! for the begining (eve of the war kinda bit) we used something like our own scarrier version of "mars" by holst. the grovers mill/cylinder opening has some creepy stuff going on but the bit i think that realy gets hairs on the back of your neck going is the "2x20 come in.." part which we put some realy minimal quirky stuff to (similar to the deserted street music at begining of 28 days later)

Kurt, to tell you the truth i've always thought stop motion or "claymation" would be perfect for the WOTW. It adds to the creep factor. For example, Tim burton's Nightmare Before Chrismas was claymation it had an eerie air about it. i think your movie has the same advantage.

yeah totaly, nightmare before christmas is one of my favourite movies tim burton is also one of my idols ( after david bowie and lou reed of course ) i think black and white stiop motion is one of the creepiest movie mediums. When i went to watch N.B.C in the cinema they had a short tim burton movie called "vincent" before it, loads of kids left the cinema crying!, not me though i had already been traumatized by "the evil dead" and some 1953 movie about martians, i cant remember the name of it though
