Good Day Ironman A thought had occured to me regarding the appearence of a US Coast Guard cutter in the Spielberg film. Although the service has no "THUNDERCHILD" as a ship's name we do have a cutter named "THUNDER BAY". Trouble is, it's not a warship in the strict sense. It's an ice breaking tug, 140 feet in length and only carries m-16's and m-60 machine guns. In time of war it can be outfitted with a pair of 20mm chainguns. But afterall it's a Hollywood movie, IF a cutter made an appearence (like the type ship in the previous photos) I suppose Mr. Spielberg could use the name "Thunder Bay" in lieu of "THUNDERCHILD". Just a thought I always thought the name "Thunderchild "was a killer name for a warship! Bosun
