Ok, I've been working on this thing for 5 days, and I finally finished it today. Man, this thing was a bitch to build! Some of those tiny parts are a real pain to cut out and bend just right without tearing them. I was thinking of painting the whole thing white, then drawing in the details with a fine tipped marker. If it looks good enough, I might put it in a diorama of some sort.

Wow! That actualy looks better than some pics of the paper model I've seen around. The looked all squary and stuff. Yours look really nice and rounded.
I still have troubles with those flat foots - so to speak, as I can't remember them from the original paintings.

that is both incredibly cool, and incredibly sad lol why because i wasted 5 days of my life to do it ;D seems that paper model building is a pretty popular niche nobby, there are loads of model patterns available on the internet for download, some of them VERY complex with hundreds of tiny little parts. they do look really cool when assembled though, and done by somebody with skill. check out this shuttle model... very cool, and made out of paper.

why because i wasted 5 days of my life to do it ;D I've only spent a few hours, I got a leg strut done on mine... But for other VSF stuff, there's this Nautilus type sub, which I'm -VERY- biased toward... www.tin-soldier.com/paper/downld/narwaldownld.htmThough the official Disney one is neat... www.disneyexperience.com/20klus_model.htmFor those with CG Modeling talent's I know that there's a program out there that will translate Computer Models into Paper ones..

i believe that program is Rhino. i've used it, but my program is 3DS Max. however, if Rhino will 'unroll' a model into a flat printable template, i might figure out how to use it

Would I need any special paper to do this sort of stuff? Or would construction paper suffice?
